Head of AI

Job Overview 

As Relyance AI’s Head of AI, you will be responsible for developing and executing our AI strategy, overseeing the development of innovative AI-powered products and solutions, and ensuring that our AI and ML efforts are aligned with our overall business goals. You will also be responsible for fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within our AI team and building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the company.

As a Head of AI, your role will include:

• Designing, architecting, and managing Relyance AI’s AI Strategy.
• Actively participating in customer engagements and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (founders, legal product managers, customer success, sales) to discover new opportunities to apply AI/ML/NLP to solve critical problems.
• Help keep Reylance AI on the cutting edge by researching, prototyping, and deploying the latest advancements in AI, ML, NLP, LLMs, GenAI, and other related technologies. 
• Executing customer-centric prioritization decisions to balance between immediate impact and long-term bets.
• Deeply understanding how everything fits together.  Architecting systems to balance scrappiness for the current needs with a forward-thinking outlook to improve and scale our infrastructure.  Continuously looking for opportunities to automate and build tools to improve engineering productivity and velocity.
• Leading the team to solve its most complex problems with simple, pragmatic solutions.
• Lead by example to build a cohesive team culture of ownership, growth, transparency, and customer focus.
• Attract and closing top AI/ML/NLP engineers and software engineers for your team and Relyance AI.

This role could be a fit for you if you bring:

• 7+ years of successfully delivering large-scale AI/ML/NLP models and systems that result in substantial positive impact to customers across multiple organizations.
• 3+ years of building and leading teams that consistently deliver results.
• Creative and strategic thinking with a change agent mindset who enjoys identifying business problems with the highest impact for customers and designing end-to-end ML/NLP models and systems to address them.
• A “get stuff done” attitude and enjoy being hands-on and working alongside the team to solve its most pressing problems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Examples of being a technical influencer with a track record of successfully influencing product direction through a strong perspective that motivates engineers to develop simple, pragmatic solutions to complex problems.

Bonus points for:

• A Phd. with a focus on ML, AI, or Data
• Experience at an early-stage startup

As such, the base salary pay range for this role is $175,000 to $300,000.
