ROLE

As a member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for identifying and executing on major strategic initiatives to prepare Block for its next stage of growth, as well as supporting leaders across Block to measure and deliver ongoing performance. You will partner closely with our Senior Management to place big bets and drive step-change improvements in how we operate. Your work will balance high-level strategy and on-the-ground execution, defining both our future path and our present success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, you will:

• Strategically analyze Block’s operations to identify step-change opportunities to improve scalability, growth, and customer experience
• Partner with our function leaders to define and implement big bet initiatives across Block’s operating model
• Drive in-quarter goaling, forecasting, and reporting to deliver strong operating results
• Partner with Product to define and execute our technology and operations roadmap
• Develop deep trust and collaboration with leaders and team members across Block, so you can lead the charge on cross-functional initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

What you bring:

• 5+ years of experience in management consulting, business operations / strategy, or similar roles
• Strong analytical muscle and innate drive to understand complex business problems from first principles
• Equal passion for defining strategy and driving execution across the finish line
• Ability to build trust-based relationships across teams and lead cross-functional efforts
• Thoughtful, compelling communication that rapidly delivers insight
• Comfort with rapid growth and change
• Inherent drive to move fast – rapidly generate hypotheses, iterate, and execute

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Block wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development, so we take a comprehensive approach to total rewards. We practice a market-based and performance-driven compensation philosophy which compensates employees fairly and competitively, and rewards strong performance. The base salary range for this position is from $130,000.00 - $185,000.00. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for a NY-based position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors.
