Job Description

ABOUT GOODR

We create and sell $25 active sunglasses for everyone. No slip, no bounce, all polarized, all fun. Interested in joining our team? Keep reading.

OUR VALUES: We have two core values: Fun & Authenticity.

  • FUN = Being sh*tty isn’t fun. Agreed? Taking pride in your work, finding joy in being GREAT, and celebrating wins… and losses. Now, that’s fun!
  • AUTHENTICITY = Focusing on being authentic over being liked. (Next-level guru stuff. Count it.)

Fun Fact: We do not allow email to be sent internally. Carrier pigeons only. JK, we use Slack.

AUTONOMY: We practice autonomy, empowerment, and accountability so that every team member can be in control of their own life.

  • REMOTE WORKING: We have a super-liberal hybrid working policy. You are only required to be in the office 2 days per week (after your first 30 days).

PURPOSE: We want to leave the world better than we found it in ways that are unique to an individual’s personal journey. But, what does that even mean??? It means:

  • PURPOSE PROJECTS: Every team member gets to create their own project for making the world a better place.

Fun Fact: One purpose project resulted in a team member’s band doing an instagram live with Sir Elton John!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Does the thought of building out a channel strategy get you excited? Does bringing goodr sunglasses to life for consumers, retailers, and our global community give you a little buzz? Or is that the piña colada talking? That’s cool too. Are you the person who loves leading teams of high performers? Did you get hired to coach the 1991 Chicago Bulls and say “oooh, this is gonna be fun. I have a whole vision for this team” and then you proceed to win an NBA championship? Or did you read that last paragraph and say “I wasn’t even born in 1991.” Well, that’s cool too. Just insert your own sports or sportsball analogy and you get the point. Okay, back on track (see, the sports analogies just don’t stop)...

How about excitement for driving sales and marketing? Does looking at revenue reports and forecasts-to-actuals with a clear path to achievement put a little chickpea in your hummus? Did that analogy land with you? Wait, really? I just wrote that while looking at objects in the kitchen.

If you answered “Obvi” to all of the above, you might be the Head of Channel Strategy that we’re looking for! An ultimate team leader who loves building strategies, driving sales, designing world-class customer experiences, creating marketing, mentoring people, and some mild-to-moderate flamingo wrangling (no training provided).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the Flock Leader for our Channel Leads team (aka The Network) focusing on channel strategy development, D2C/B2B marketing and sales, and customer experience to create the most delightful in-market experiences known to the world
  • Manage changes to the sales forecasts by channel, as needed
  • Works with The Network to ideate, create, and see projects through to completion
  • Track and analyze sales data and customer patterns so that we can continue to sharpen our sales and customer experiences
  • Wrangle unicorns and tend to the octopus garden
  • Basically Phil Jackson-ing the heck out of our channel strategy initiatives

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • May or may not have a degree...we don’t care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)
  • Loves everything above
  • Asks a lot of questions
  • 7-10+ years of experience managing or leading sales teams
  • Proven working experience in sales, channel strategy, or customer experience management
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Asana (or similar project management tools)  is a plus
  • A self-starter who can rely on their skill in prioritizing and organizing their workflow to coordinate multiple sales channels (D2C, B2B, Global, etc.)
  • Mad bonus if you are a GTDer
  • Dependable with the willingness to take the initiative to work collaboratively and with a sense of urgency
  • Loves the work more than a paycheck
  • Thinks planning and organizing are fun
  • Loves to create order out of chaos
  • Is happy to give away credit to their team
  • Loves getting and giving feedback
  • Is into personal growth
  • Thinks Fun is being great (not partying)
  • Is proactive and an independent problem solver! (Can you google a question?)

  • A role at a company that is going to the moon
  • The opportunity to show up every day and have fun
  • The ability to learn and grow as a person
