Requirements

The Role

We are looking for a dynamic Head of Content to join our team. You will be responsible for hiring, creating, improving and maintaining content to achieve our business goals. Your duties will also include sharing content to raise brand awareness and monitoring web traffic and metrics to identify best practices.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional with demonstrable creative writing skills at scale. As Head of Content, you will be working with a high performance senior growth team and you should perform well under deadlines and be detail-oriented. If you are also an expert in content optimization and brand consistency, we would like to meet you.

Ultimately, you should be able to oversee all marketing content initiatives to ensure customer engagement, brand consistency and a positive customer experience.

How you can make an impact:• Build and manage a team of high performing content writers• Own the voice and content strategy for eMed• Write high-quality stories with a strong consumer-first orientation.• Share expertise and timely/relevant ideas to support eMed's social, syndication and media strategies.• Leverage insights from analytics to grow readership & SEO and improve the user experience through new content and optimizations.• Contribute ideas that strengthen eMed's approach to product reviews and comparisons.• Help shape eMed's consumer experiences, including tools.

You are:• A strong communicator who can empathize with consumers and help them navigate complex decisions.• Excellent at prioritization and handling multiple projects at once.• Resourceful and self-directed. You can tackle anything from story assignments to team management with minimal direction, and you consistently deliver polished work.• Comfortable with change.• Able to provide examples of how you've taken initiative and driven projects throughout your career.• Passionate about self-improvement and at ease with constructive criticism.• Someone who works with equal enthusiasm whether you're a project leader or team member.• Excited to learn about new personal health topics, develop relevant sources and communicate consumer-first advice.

Your experience:• We recognize not everyone will meet all of the criteria. If you meet most of the criteria below and you're excited about the opportunity and willing to learn, we'd love to hear from you.• 5+ years writing for consumer-facing publications.• 2+ years of experience building and managing content teams• Experience with teams publishing hundreds of pieces of content a quarter• Knowledge of SEO best practices or interest in learning.• Previous experience with Personal Health topics is a major plus.
