Head of Conversational AI, TIFIN at Work

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

A division of TIFIN, @Work is the first conversational AI-enabled financial wellness and advice platform for employees, developed in partnership with wealth enterprises. Workplace benefits and financial wellness are a crucial part of a modern employee’s compensation package. Yet, employees struggle to make optimal use of workplace benefits within the context of their current financial status and future goals. At the same time, an increasingly strong source of growth for wealth management firms are the plan participants (employees) that their plan advisors service. Yet, they lack the digital tools required to bridge the workplace and wealth management. TIFIN at Work bridges these gaps to help individual employees achieve better financial outcomes, help employers increase employee engagement, and help wealth enterprises grow their businesses through the workplace. 

We are seeking a Head of Conversational AI for TIFIN@Work to join the senior leadership of this early-stage team. We are looking for a hands-on technical leader who can own the conversational AI function end-to-end, working closely with product leadership. Leading the team of NLP Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers, as well as continuing to build this team as the business grows, is also a key responsibility. THE ROLE:

• Provide technical leadership on all conversational AI aspects of project, collaborating closely with product leadership
• Oversee multiple NLP Data Scientists and engineers
• Use NLP (natural language process) to analyze large conversational data sets made up of chats
• Build and enhance NLU (natural language understanding) and NLG (natural language generation) components for conversational AI product
• Build tools and scripts to automate data aggregation and curation 
• Continue to tune the models to improve accuracy and effectiveness

WHO YOU ARE:

• PhD./Masters degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or relevant field  
• 7+ years of practical experience in the development of chatbots or other conversational AI applications 
• Experienced in the field of NLP/NLU/NLG and well versed with the current and latest state-of-the-art research  
• Hands-on experience in fine tuning and deploying generative LLM (large language models)
• Experience using machine learning/ deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and/ or PyTorch  
• Proficient at Python and SQL 
• Ability to visualize data in the most effective way possible for a given project or study
• Ability to thrive in a highly demanding, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment 
• Highly flexible, good tolerance for ambiguity, and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
• A top performer with a proactive approach who has a “doer” & problem-solver mentality 
• An exceptional team player with strong communication skills
• A local presence in Denver or Boulder is required

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:

The expected starting salary range for this position in Colorado is between $190,000 - $250,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
