Job Description

ABOUT GOODR

We create and sell $25 active sunglasses for everyone. No slip, no bounce, all polarized, all fun. Interested in joining our team? Keep reading.

OUR VALUES: We have two core values: Fun & Authenticity.

  • FUN = Being sh*tty isn’t fun. Agreed? Taking pride in your work, finding joy in being GREAT, and celebrating wins… and losses. Now, that’s fun!
  • AUTHENTICITY = Focusing on being authentic over being liked. (Next-level guru stuff. Count it.)

Fun Fact: We do not allow email to be sent internally. Carrier pigeons only. JK, we use Slack.

AUTONOMY: We practice autonomy, empowerment, and accountability so that every team member can be in control of their own life.

  • REMOTE WORKING: We have a super-liberal hybrid working policy. You are only required to be in the office 2 days per week (after your first 30 days).

PURPOSE: We want to leave the world better than we found it in ways that are unique to an individual’s personal journey. But, what does that even mean??? It means:

  • PURPOSE PROJECTS: Every team member gets to create their own project for making the world a better place.

Fun Fact: One purpose project resulted in a team member’s band doing an instagram live with Sir Elton John!

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a role as our Copy Flock Leader (the goodrified terminology for Head of Copy for our in-house copywriting team, The Copy Coven). In this role, your time will be split: approximately 60% leading our Copy Coven and 40% writing and overseeing copy for all of our channels. You, leader and writer, love writing a piece of witty copy that sneakily engages a consumer until you have hooked them for life because, through your clever writing and knowledge of marketing, you’ve convinced them that you’re not a brand at all, but, in fact, their funniest friend. And, everyone loves to buy things from their funniest friend! (Unless your funniest friend happens to work for one of those network marketing beauty brands…)

The ideal candidate for this role will have 5 years experience in a similar role as a Senior Copywriter, managing a team. Although the leadership is defined as 40%, you should be someone who thrives on management and understands the value of tasks outside of copywriting -- necessary vision and administrative tasks, empowering our team of copywriters, giving feedback, and protecting the goodr brand voice across all channels.

But of course, you are also a creative and proactive writer who loves creating marketing-savvy copy in a well-established brand voice. You have a thorough understanding of how strategy, copy, and design must work together to sell goodrs across all digital and print channels. That said, you are also a rebel -- a copy and marketing rule-breaker whose natural instincts align with the goodr brand.

We sling a lot of sunglasses, which requires a lot of copy, so we need someone who is highly organized and can hit deadlines, all while leading the team.
