Your role

Reporting to Joris Van Genechten, you will strategically lead the Data team, ensuring alignment with company objectives, product vision, and customer satisfaction. This role focuses on evangelizing modern data processes, driving innovation, and achieving excellence in data architecture and big data processing across the entire company. The responsibilities will include:

• Development and management of the team roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and product milestones.
• Effective communication of the roadmap to team members and stakeholders, adjusting as necessary based on feedback and changing priorities.
• Setting business aligned objectives for the team, with regular performance reviews to provide feedback and guidance to promote continuous improvement and professional development.
• Ensuring the team’s work consistently meets or exceeds customer expectations by monitoring feedback and implementing necessary improvements.
• Enablement of cross-functional data collaboration to inspire and teach best data practices.
• Release of thought leadership content around modern enterprise data strategies internally and externally
• Evangelism of modern data standards in the company.

What you'll need

• A demonstrated ability to lead a data team strategically, aligning its work with business objectives.
• The ability to build high-performing teams and promote a culture of continuous improvement
• Skills in teaching and promoting best data practices across the organization.
• Expertise in enterprise data strategies and scalable big data architectures.
• Proficiency in data processing technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong skills in data analytics and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices to ensure data integrity, privacy, and security.
• Experience in integrating AI solutions to optimize business processes.
• Strong communication skills to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• The ability to evangelize data standards and innovations within and outside the company.

Where and how you’d work

As head of data/ team lead you are expected to be present and guide the team which is mostly based in our Antwerp office. This can be done partially remotely but we do expect you to bring the team together on key moments and make sure they are motivated and empowered.

Office Mix

This role is currently an Office-Mix Hybrid role. This means you would chat with your leader and team to define the number of days you need to be together to collaborate and achieve outcomes in close proximity. This is often 1 - 2 days a week. The other days you have flexibility.
