Head of Data & Analytics for Ultimate Rewards
Job Description
The Head of Data & Analytics for Ultimate Rewards is a critical leadership position, responsible for supporting the Connected Commerce & Ultimate Rewards strategic priorities and translating them into an analytic and data vision. This position is charged with delivering innovative and industry-leading analytics, powered by machine learning and AI, while providing thought leadership on data strategy and products to achieve growth, engagement and improved customer experiences. This position will report to the Head of Data & Analytics for Connected Commerce. The Data & Analytics team is the engine that powers JPMorgan Chase with insights to create competitive advantages for our business and deliver value for our customers. We have unified data and analytics talent across the firm and encompass a variety of disciplines including data science, reporting, quantitative analytics, and data governance. Within this organization, the Connected Commerce D&A team leverages industry-leading data-driven techniques to convert data into meaningful insights that enable the firm to drive value and an outstanding customer experience.
Responsibilities:
Business Outcomes
- Understands the Connected Commerce and Ultimate Rewards business and strategic priorities comprehensively
- Organizes their team to ensure the Product has the appropriate level of dedicated support for their priorities
- Actively identifies ways to support these priorities through Data & Analytics, including:
- Appling machine learning, AI and other advanced techniques to grow our businesses, solve business problems, drive strategy and improve the experience of our customers.
- Identifying, buying, testing and deploying new data types that can drive insight (from other LOBs as well as vendors)
- Continuously transitioning repeatable analyses into automated reporting and improving data visualizations
- Conducting deep-dive analyses where appropriate
- Partnering with the Modeling COE and Product teams to build predictive models (e.g., Marketing and Sales leads, price elasticity, capacity planning)
- Partnering with various analytics teams in Connected Commerce to tell a holistic story and execute on business priorities
- Leads the translation of the Ultimate Rewards Analytics priorities and Business Applications into a unified Data Roadmap
- Provides analytic support and leadership to business and functional product teams;
- Creating measurement and A/B testing plans with Product Owners
- Ensure our Digital experiences are instrumented to capture signals needed to understand customer behavior
- Understand the value and application of stitching behavioral, transactional and voice of customer data to improve the customer experience
- Build self-service capabilities for Product Owners, Design, and Technology by leveraging industry leading analytical tools
- Actively identify opportunities to improve funnel conversions and identify areas of friction in the customer experience
- Owns the development of an analytical and data and prioritizes resources when there are capacity constraints
- Identifies opportunity for synergies between stakeholders, peers and share insights
Data Strategy
- Define strategy to develop and deliver data to Product Owners to support business operations, strategic objectives and advanced analytics
- Coordinate efforts across ssData Owner Leads within Connected Commerce to ensure consistent data strategies and compliance
- Partner closely with stakeholders to drive understanding of the data and its use in their Product area and across lines of business and functions
- Ensure data is highly governed and controlled
Leadership & Communication
- Self-directed leader who doesn't just take orders, but partners with to gain consensus on a robust data and analytic road map.
- Strong influencing and communication skills to executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders to take action on analytics and insights
- Familiarity with machine learning and cloud technologies, with the proven ability to deliver innovation
- Impact-oriented - "owns" delivery of impact for the business - not just delivery of insight - and actively influences stakeholders and peers to achieve it
- Critical thinker who can be a thought leader to the business and Connected Commerce Data & Analytics team
- Speak the languages of "business" and "technology" and can translate across both in order to expand the use of data as well as expand the questions that data is used to answer in order to deliver strong brand, product, and channel strategies and tactics
People Leadership
- Have a long and demonstrated history of leading world class teams of high performing statisticians and data scientists who lead the delivery of analytic and machine learning to improve business function performance
- Are outcomes-driven with high achievement orientation, a bias towards action, and the ability to lead and motivate others around results that drive impact
- Possess the business acumen and analytic chops to ensure your team is applying the right approach and critical thinking to execute against projects using an assortment of methods that range from descriptive profiles and statistical forecasting to predictive modeling and optimization
- Have a strong presence, excellent presentation skills (both written and verbal), and low ego with a unique combination of technical expertise, storytelling, and intuition required to deliver recommendations to multiple stakeholders and influence senior management
- Thrive in fast-paced, start-up environments but can also navigate large, matrixed organizations to break down siloes
- Believe that diversity of skills, experience, and thought make a team better
Qualifications:
- 10+ years' experience as a Data/Analytics Executive or in a related field
- Experience in financial services, retail, digital, e-commerce, marketing, or consulting
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies
- Process- and controls-oriented leader, maintains a strong system of internal governance and controls
- Excellent ability to influence and partner with stakeholders and drive change
- Strong presence and speaking skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams
- Comfortable presenting recommendations to senior management and capable of influencing multiple stakeholders
- Strong business control understanding and experience
- Experience with a Fortune 500 company and highly recognized customer centric brand strongly preferred
- Strong grasp of new technologies, competitive landscapes, marketplace, and regulatory environment
