Head of Data Management (Hybrid - 3/2 Work Schedule)

The mission of the Data Management function is to maximize the value of data by establishing governance, reliability, and single points of entry. The function's strategic focus is to standardize reference data across various applications and streamline processes to ensure well-governed and efficient management of that data. The function's operational focus is efficient data creation, maintenance, analysis, and remediation. CCI is in the process of optimizing its enterprise-wide data architecture and is implementing TIBCO's EBX application for centralization and management of reference data.

The Head of Data Management supervises a team of onshore and offshore resources to run day-to-day data operations through multiple applications, workflows, and processes. This position plays an integral role in the execution of CCI's Operational Excellence initiative to optimize data and processes across the company and is a key contributor to enterprise data architecture strategy and implementation. The position works in close partnership with Finance, Operations, Data Science, IT, and other Corporate teams. The role will be based in either Stamford or Houston and reports to the Executive Director of Enterprise Improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a data governance strategy, which includes establishing data owners and SLAs.
• Design, communicate, and enforce data management policies.
• Review and improve data management processes and workflows across all data domains.
• Manage the analysis, response, and remediation of data-related issues.
• Manage ongoing development and integration of CCI's centralized reference data tool, EBX.
• Work with business and IT functions to improve data cleanliness, availability, and accessibility.
• Assess quality gaps in current datasets and recommend/implement improvements, including designing, building, and maintaining data quality rules and validation checks in EBX and Alteryx.
• Hands-on data engineering, ad-hoc querying, and analysis of reference data requests for strategic commercial initiatives and corporate projects.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years' experience with data management and data operations.
• Experience managing an international team.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or related degree.
• Experience with master data management tools is required.
• Advanced Excel and SQL skills, or preferably Alteryx and ETL development experience, are required.
• Experience with SAP data objects is preferred.
• Experience with data related to energy commodities and financial markets is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex problems using non-technical terms.
• Passion for data, process improvement, and providing high-quality customer service.
