Title: Head of Data Technical Program Management

Do you like working with big data and AI? Do you want to use data to help drive the direction of products that impact Databricks and its customers? If yes, we want to talk to you. As a senior technical program manager, you’ll use your expertise to drive innovation that enables Databricks’s products to be smarter like never before. You’ll also work with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs, manage a portfolio of crucial cross-functional, cross-cutting data initiatives, while transforming the organization towards data-driven decision making. This is an extremely senior opportunity to think big in terms of how data can be used more effectively inside the organization.


The impact you’ll have:

  • Ownership of the technical program management around all our data platform and AI initiatives in a matrix organization across different locations covering a range of areas such as data science & AI, data platform, data privacy, and more.
  • Drive and manage the development of AI/data products and systems from concept to production with various software and go-to-market teams. Develop and manage overall program requirements, scope, schedules, and deliverables with product, engineering, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Own development of ETL/data pipelines to populate the data lake from a variety of custom and third-party systems, launch business-critical dashboards and reports.
  • Implement improvements to data quality and efficiency of reporting systems, implement business metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Lead the delivery, implementation and business adoption of new scalable and reliable data analytics solutions for cross-department leadership and business teams
  • Ensure compliance with Databricks’s policies, laws and regulations relating to privacy.

What we look for:

  • B.S. in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Successfully managed the build and deployment of a company-wide data lake is a big plus
  • Experience either in building large scale enterprise product/systems or product at scale
  • Understand data, machine learning & AI technologies and their applications used at Databricks and beyond
  • Technical skills to perform deep analysis and develop automation (Python, SQL)
  • Experience moving large cross-cutting technical or engineering programs and products from inception to delivery, articulating the impact using metrics
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team to develop solutions
  • Successfully managed the build and deployment of a company-wide data lake is a big plus
