Head of Design

Note: This role is with one of our portfolio companies (Series A funded)

We are looking for an experienced Head of Design, to lead the Product Design. The individual will be responsible for designing deliverables, interfaces with product management & development of end-to-end product execution, and a pivotal contributor to the overall visuals, style, and interfaces across the products and partner with leaders across product, engineering, marketing, and sales to understand and scope the design needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and direct the product and brand design teams
• Drive product design strategy and nurture Scale Design's processes, systems, and technical expertise
• Define a vision to establish and foster design culture and team morale
• Champion and advocate for design among senior leadership
• Establish a deep understanding of Scale verticals, and product ecosystem
• Balance the needs of our clients and user groups, while staying ahead of the competition
• Turn ambiguous feedback and communications into clear, actionable plans for your teams

• 5+ years of total product design experience
• Exceptional communication skills that provide the ability to build productive working relationships and interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels
• Showed success working in and leading teams in a scrappy and fast-growing environment.
• A vision for and knowledge of the value and opportunities brand design brings to an organization.
• Experience creating and/or maintaining robust design systems.
• Experience in enterprise SaaS companies or products.
• Experience designing new products from the ground up.
• A deep interest in innovating toward complex problems.
