Head of Developer Relations

At its core, Notion builds software that empowers customers to solve their own problems. We deliver customers, creators, and developers a set of building blocks that enable them to make software to solve their own problems, the way they want. As such, Notion can be used for almost anything: for writing and sharing docs, as a wiki, for managing projects and tasks, and more.

Developer Relations is the critical bridge between Notion’s Platform Team and the vibrant community of Notion toolmakers, helping us tackle the grand challenge of how exactly to give people the power to mold Notion to whatever use case they want. With the right APIs and capabilities, we can extend our reach in new and unprecedented ways.

We're looking for the right person to build, equip, and empower our global community of developers to create this platform with us.

• Build from 0 to 1: Define and build our developer relations program from the ground up, in partnership with our product, engineering, and partnerships teams.
• Collaborate with an engaged community: Our users are extremely creative and passionate about the product and the opportunity to build with Notion. You'll have an immediate audience that is beyond dedicated and enthusiastic.
• Lead a step-change for our user base: Platform and ecosystem are central to our next phase of growth - reaching millions more users, augmenting product experiences/driving innovation, and supporting toolmakers building businesses on Notion.

• Create, manage, and support a strong relationship between the developer community and the Notion team, enabling us to build the best developer platform possible.
• Build and publish engaging content — construct helpful examples and guides, ensure documentation is meeting the needs of the community, and share excellent community created content as well.
• Partner with engineering to keep the community up to date on the roadmap and releases. Work closely with marketing and sales to tell new stories about how Notion is being used and the value it can provide.
• Develop and execute holistic launch plans for major API improvements and evolutions that require the community to react — understanding the scope of changes, working with developers to assess impact, constructing a timeline for rollout, and developing a process to guide the community through the changes.
• Speak at conferences and in other forums to reach Notion developers. Figure out how we can leverage Notion's existing community around the world to build mindshare.
• Cultivate a developer relations function at Notion - define the right roles, hire the best people, and set the team up for success.

• You have a solid technical background and a strong presence in the developer community.
• You're an exceptional external communicator, adept at interfacing with partners and large audiences alike.
• You're experienced at rallying internal stakeholders and project managing on a deadline. In particular, you've partnered with engineering teams to deliver anticipated products.
• You're creative and have an informed interest in marketing and business opportunities that the API will open and accelerate.
• You're a skilled community leader — you’re at your best when informing and engaging large communities so they gain members and momentum over time.
• You're ready to own a program end-to-end and build an organization that will grow as a pillar of the company.
• You’ve had experience building and managing a team from scratch.

• You've been an early developer advocacy hire at a fast growing startup before.
• You love the Notion product and want to build and nurture the community around it.
