As a People team, our purpose is to drive the success of the business through the success of our people. Our ambition is to be known as the most impactful, innovative and effective People Team in Tech. We seek inspiration in our employee value proposition: Imagine what we’ll build together. We push the boundaries of what People Teams can achieve through bold ambition, innovation and creativity. We couple that innovative spirit with execution prowess and operational excellence in order to drive transformational change. For every process, philosophy and program that we build, we hold all leaders accountable (including ourselves) and collaborate with them through deep partnerships across the business.Â
About the Role
As our Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, you’ll be responsible for influencing leaders and executing on strategies to increase representation, drive high engagement, and grow our people. You will be a trusted partner that demonstrates the meaningful (and challenging) balance of being a business leader, a DEI leader, and a People leader all at once. You will inspect the foundation that exists – one that leans on a "leader-led" philosophy" – and unlock further growth by iterating, rebuilding, and accelerating progress towards where we want to be in the future. That is, to apply DEI expertise to our people and business processes, to create an inclusive environment where people from different backgrounds belong and succeed, and to build a diverse team that leverages our differences as people to help enable Thumbtack’s success as a business.Â
The DEI team is a part of the People Partnership & Development (PPD) team, which also includes HR Business Partners and Organizational Development. This role oversees the DEI team and reports to the Senior Director, People Partnership & Development, a member of the People Leadership Team, and is virtual-first, in line with our Future of Work vision.
Responsibilities

- Build and lead engagement and development initiatives, in partnership with our Org Dev team
- Liaise with and integrate our vibrant Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) into our overall DEI strategy and goalsÂ
