The Global Head of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) will spearhead our organization’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace culture where every employee feels a strong sense of belonging. Reporting to the SVP, Talent & Culture, this role focuses on creating and maintaining alignment between DEIB initiatives and business objectives, while actively engaging with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), DEIB councils and committees, and the Culture Network. The ideal candidate will leverage these collaborative networks to drive impactful DEIB strategies and ensure their successful integration across HR and the broader organization.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Strategic DEIB Leadership:

    • Develop and execute the organization’s DEIB strategy with a primary focus on fostering inclusion and a strong sense of belonging.

    • Create and regularly review data-driven DEIB initiatives against measurable, time-bound goals.

    • Partner with ERGs to ensure that they have goals—as well as a framework to achieve them, inclusive of a budget.

    • Align DEIB initiatives with overall business goals and HR practices to ensure cohesion and effectiveness.

  • Collaboration with ERGs, DEIB Councils & Committees, and the Culture Network:

    • Partner with ERGs to support their activities, amplify their impact, and address their needs and concerns.

    • Work closely with DEIB councils to provide strategic direction, facilitate meetings, and ensure their recommendations are integrated into organizational practices.

    • Collaborate with the Culture Network to build a unified approach to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.

    • Identify opportunities where ERGs, DEIB Councils & Committees, and the Culture Network can work together to benefit all participants.

    • Actively participate in the identification of, recruitment of, and succession planning for ERG executive sponsors, chairpersons, and steering committees.

  • Program Development and Implementation:

    • Design and implement DEIB programs and initiatives that advance inclusion and belonging within the organization.

    • Work with the Talent Development team, internal and external resources to ensure training and development programs are in place to educate employees and leaders on DEIB best practices and foster a culture of inclusion.

    • Ensure DEIB initiatives are effectively communicated and supported across all levels of the organization.

  • Cross-Functional Integration:

    • Coordinate with HR and other departments to embed DEIB principles into talent management processes, including recruitment, performance management, and career development.

    • Evaluate effectiveness of internship program in attracting students from underrepresented backgrounds and fostering interest in IRM careers.

    • Ensure alignment between DEIB strategies and organizational policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Develop,monitor and analyze DEIB metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and identify areas for improvement.

    • Prepare and present regular reports on DEIB progress, challenges, and achievements to senior leadership.

  • Community and External Engagement:

    • Represent the organization in external DEIB forums, partnerships, and community initiatives to enhance its reputation as an inclusive employer.

    • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continually enhance the organization’s DEIB efforts.

  • Advocacy and Support:

    • Serve as a key advocate for DEIB within the organization, promoting an environment where diverse perspectives are valued and included.

    • Provide guidance and support to ERGs, DEIB councils, and other internal networks, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to thrive.

The Ideal Candidate Characteristics & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in DEIB, HR, or a related field, with a demonstrated focus on inclusion and belonging. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Ability to identify, develop, and lead a strategic DEIB strategy with clear and measurable objectives. Skilled in identifying challenges and developing innovative solutions to advance DEIB objectives. 

  • Proven experience in working with ERGs, DEIB councils, and similar collaborative networks and cross-functional teams..

  • Strong understanding of HR practices and experience integrating DEIB initiatives with business objectives.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to clearly articulate DEIB initiatives and goals and influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience in analyzing DEIB data and using insights to drive strategy and continuous improvement.

  • Passionate about creating an inclusive culture where all employees feel a strong sense of belonging.

  • Ability to develop and execute long-term DEIB strategies aligned with business goals.

  • Deep understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives, and the ability to address related issues effectively.
