Role: 

As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for building a delightful patient and clinician digital experience to support our first set of clinics in NYC commercial buildings. Initially, you will focus on our patient engagement platform (web/mobile applications). As we grow our customer base, you will help create a marketplace where we can dynamically match patients to clinical partners and build an analytics product to improve quality and lower the costs of care. You will be our first in-house engineering hire and a key member of the leadership team. You will work closely with our Head of Product and lead our distributed engineering team. Previous hands-on experience in a healthcare services company is ideal.

What you will be doing:

• Set the technical vision and strategy that meets both Reside’s business goals and continuously improves our customers’ experience 
• Work directly with Product to scope, sequence, and staff engineering projects (roadmaps, budgets, metrics and hiring plans)
• Collaborate with leadership, engineers, and clinical team to scope new product opportunities, anticipate technical and operational risks, and approaches to help mitigate them
• Architect and own major feature development from start to finish
• Build and release features across the stack and growing digital product footprint
• Own discovery and execution of strategic vendor partnerships 
• Develop the data pipeline to power data-driven decision making
• Talk to users to find out what works and what doesn't
• Work with designers to iterate quickly on new user flows
• Grow the internal toolset and implement processes that help the team best serve our members

What you will need:

• 8+ years total experience in software engineering
• Experience working in healthcare, ideally supporting service delivery
• Experience at an early-stage (pre-Series B), high growth startup
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and being a liaison between technical and non-technical people
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

We'd love it if you also have:

• 2+ years experience directly managing teams, leading and inspiring engineers and designers
• Experience with some parts of our stack: AWS, back-end services in Python, front-end applications in JavaScript (React/React Native), and data modelling in relational database systems (PostgreSQL)
• Experience managing/overseeing mobile applications (i.e. shipping to app stores)

The role is based in NYC with option for part-time remote work. Our team is currently in-office and working remotely part of the week.
