Head of Engineering

About the Job

As Head of Engineering, you will lead the scale-up of our advanced battery materials and devices. You will work alongside the product/R&D teams and external suppliers to deliver high-performance products at scale. You will direct the engineering team to create new battery designs that meet product specifications. You'll play a central role in making Anthro's technology a reality.

What you will do

• Translate product specifications into cell designs
• Work with external vendors and manufacturers to establish supply chain and manufacturing relationships
• Develop and implement cell testing, validation, and performance protocols
• Develop and implement quality control protocols
• Manage and mentor engineering team
• Perform hands-on work with cell design, build, test, and manufacture
• Prepare presentations and report on progress at internal meetings
• Work in-person, on-site at Anthro's lab in San Jose, and travel to manufacturing locations as-needed

Requirements

• 5+ years in an engineering role, with experience in the battery industry
• Have experience with commercialization/scale-up of new products and technologies
• Comfortable managing projects between internal and external parties
• Adaptive between being an individual contributor and a leader
• An excellent communicator and team player
• Able to manage multiple workflows and projects
• Ambitious, looking to increase your responsibility in a fast growing company
