This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced engineering professional ready to shape the technical future of complex, high-scale digital products. You will define and execute engineering strategy while working closely with executive leadership, with a clear pathway toward a CTO position. The role combines deep technical expertise with organizational leadership, overseeing multiple engineering domains including backend, frontend, DevOps, and QA. You will operate in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment where performance, scalability, and reliability are critical. Accountabilities:
- Define and drive the engineering strategy in alignment with executive leadership and business objectives
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional engineering teams including frontend, backend, QA, and DevOps leads
- Design and oversee scalable architectures for high-load systems, including core logic, infrastructure, and integrations
- Establish best practices for system performance, reliability, and scalability under peak usage conditions
- Optimize infrastructure, communication protocols, and system throughput to ensure low latency and high availability
- Implement and oversee development processes including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and incident management
- Ensure code quality, system observability, and adherence to SLI/SLO standards through audits and performance analysis
- Mentor and develop team leads, fostering alignment in technical standards and engineering practices
- Promote a strong engineering culture through documentation, design reviews, and transparent workflows
- Oversee B2B technical support operations, including API integrations, incident handling, and SLA adherence
- Collaborate with product, design, analytics, and SRE teams to deliver business-driven technical solutions
- Evaluate technical decisions based on cost-efficiency, risk, and business impact
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management of engineering talent
- Ensure systems are secure, fault-tolerant, and resilient against internal and external threats
- 7+ years of experience building and scaling complex digital products (e.g., backend systems, high-load platforms, or game development)
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, high-performance architectures, and real-time processing
- Proven experience optimizing systems for peak loads, including caching strategies, load balancing, and communication protocols
- Solid knowledge of system security, threat modeling, access control, and risk mitigation
- Strong frontend expertise, including rendering technologies and performance optimization for web and mobile environments
- Experience with observability tools and monitoring systems (e.g., logging, alerting, metrics tracking)
- Background in managing B2B integrations, APIs, SLAs, and incident response processes
- Deep understanding of caching strategies and infrastructure optimization across multiple geographies
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing senior engineers or team leads
- Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to make decisions under pressure in high-stakes environments
- Experience with automation and modern engineering tooling
- Familiarity with SLI/SLO frameworks, fault tolerance, and resilient system design principles
