This strategic and hands-on role reports directly to the CIO. Will direct the enterprise priorities and objectives. Use knowledge and thought leadership to ensure that organization's enterprise architecture is aligned with its business strategy, digital and data goals. Create and lead the architecture community and actively participate in problem solving to move the business forward including driving key processes such as orchestrating technical design reviews to leverage standard capabilities, avoid technical debt and ensure non-functional requirements are addressed in alignment with enterprise policies such as security, performance, scalability, reliability, resilience, and recoverability. Responsible for overseeing problem management with the intent to improve the reliability and efficiency of systems and services. Collaborate with key stakeholders to align on governance responsibilities and maintains the enterprise's technology and data architecture library. Lead the process, design, and delivery of the tool chain as well as the technology business management toolkit to drive agile maturity.
Responsibilities

  • Assess the application and technology stack on an ongoing basis to understand the capabilities, risks, and scalability of the portfolio to meet the current and anticipated needs of the business.
  • Map business strategy to technology strategy and perform a gap analysis of current architecture and implementations against strategic roadmaps.
  • Take proactive measures to understand technology products and vendor strategies and technical roadmaps.
  • Lead high-level designs and prototyping initiatives for software platforms.
  • Architect complex application development and integration projects
    Keep abreast of new technologies that affect software development. Conduct ongoing research and assessment approaches for potential use within the Enterprise.
  • Serve as advisor to senior business management on business and information/platform integration strategies.
  • Consult in business process analysis and design and service delivery, particularly for the use of data and applications.
  • Influence the organization to accomplish goals and needs through architecture activities.
  • Act as an auditor to ensure conformance and compliance of projects and programs with architect guidelines ensuring development practices comply with enterprise standards and patterns.
  • Provide architectural leadership in the resolutions of inter-program and inter-project issues coordinating enterprise architecture.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of solutions and their impact to business challenges and technology stability.
  • Define, design, and build the tool kits and develop the deployment, maintenance, training, and adoption strategies
  • Define, design, and build the technology business management tool kit and develop the deployment, maintenance, training, and adoption strategies in partnership with the EPMO.
  • Provide guidance and support to assigned development teams from planning through execution in scoping, design and implementation of functional epics/features ensuring that overall solution vision is on track, right technical trade-offs are made and issues are identified and resolved timely.
  • Define architecture design patterns and development best practices and drive adoption across different initiatives.
  • Participate in sprint and system demos for agile teams to maintain visibility on product progress, quality and interdependencies throughout the lifecycle. Identify and offer suggestions for improvement.
  • Plan, oversee and lead the work of the team to meet functional and individual operational objectives and goals. Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  • Responsible for hire, fire, performance, discipline and problem resolution decisions.


Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Related - Minimum
  • Graduate Degree in Computer science, engineering, data science or Related - Preferred


Years of Experience

  • 12 years in Enterprise, Solution or Technical Architecture, Application Development, Database Management or Related - minimum
  • 5 years in People Management - Preferred


In Lieu of Education:

  • 15+ years in Solution or Technical Architecture, Application Development, Database Management including People Management


License/Certifications/Training:

  • Preferred: LeanIX
  • Preferred: TOGAF
  • Preferred: CISA
  • Preferred: CISM
