Role Description:

The Head of ETF Product Strategy will play a key role in the ongoing growth of the T. Rowe Price ETF business. This role will be responsible for the continued development of the ETF product offering, competitive analysis, dedicated ETF research capabilities, and ongoing product positioning. The position will be a member of the ETF Lead Team and report directly to the Head of ETFs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead ETF product strategy and development efforts in partnership with Global Product
  • Apply understanding of the external environment to our in-house investment capabilities and develop thoughtful perspectives on where and how T. Rowe Price is best equipped to participate in the ETF space - in collaboration with Global Product, Investment and Distribution Leadership to seek insights and gain alignment
  • Build business case for development of new ETF strategies
  • Craft the internal and external communication plan for ETF product strategy
  • Work in close partnership with Global Product to ensure ETFs are incorporated in Global Product Road Map
  • Manage new ETF product launch protocols in partnership with Global Product
  • Develop comprehensive ETF competitive analysis capability focused on client and industry evolution, trends, and fund flows
  • Create a proactive research function to develop product positioning points for all funds across the ETF product suite
  • Manage ETF product related projects across multiple stakeholder teams, including Investments, Global Product, Distribution, Legal, and Compliance teams
  • Provide high-level support for various internal oversight committees: global product, distribution, governance, risk, etc.
  • Represent T. Rowe Price ETF business at industry events and conferences when applicable


Education / Work Experience:
  • College degree and advanced degree or designation (MBA, CFA) preferred
  • 10+ years of total relevant work experience and 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and execution experience with regards to product strategy, product development, and product management work, successfully ensuring delivery of good customer outcomes leading to beneficial commercial results


Key Qualifications:
  • Ability to influence and navigate with high EQ, as evidenced by senior stakeholder influencing in previous roles with an ability to develop, influence and work within a matrixed global structure
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to gather meaningful data and synthesize it to drive informed decisions
  • Polished senior executive presence with the capability to project credibility and gain trust and respect at all levels, internally and externally with willingness to be adaptive
  • Professional curiosity to identify and drive new ideas of opportunity
  • Enthusiastic and optimistic with a drive to succeed and willingness to take managed risks
  • Proven ability to "connect the dots" and understand relationships between various facts, ideas, and objectives
  • Extensive financial product background / Deep industry experience / Strong management skills
  • Strong working knowledge of ETF listing process, US exchanges, and ETF Capital Markets
  • In-depth knowledge of ETFs and other investment vehicles
  • Solid understanding of ETF regulatory environment and industry landscape
  • Ability to collaborate (and influence) and manage cross-functional relationships and projects
  • Proven project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and drive projects to successful completion
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and driven individual with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • A self-starter who operates with a sense of urgency and accountability
  • Experienced manager with ability to build a high performing team, establish an effective operating model, recruit, and develop talent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and data applications
  • Strong organizational, time management, and relationship management skills
  • Experience working across multiple asset classes


This role requires the FINRA Series 7 and Series 24 licenses. Series 24 may be obtained within first 6 months of hire if not currently held.
