Head of Finance
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic finance professional to lead our finance team in the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial operations, controlling activities, and carrier relationships within the insurance industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization's financial strategy, growth initiatives, and integration of corporate development and finance functions.

Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations, including controlling, accounting, and carrier relationships, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
- Manage a team of finance professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to drive team performance and growth.
- Lead controlling and accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with and support Strategy and BizOps on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning, contributing insights for informed decision-making.
- Play a pivotal role in pricing strategy, insurance premiums analysis, and loss ratio calculations.
- Develop and nurture relationships with carriers, both existing and new, to drive business growth and expansion.
- Contribute to raising capital and engaging with investors and stakeholders to support the company's financial goals.
- Drive integration between Corporate Development and Finance teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration and shared goals.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, and controlling within the insurance industry.
- CPA designation and experience within a Big 4 consulting firm strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of insurance industry dynamics, including premiums, rates, filings, and loss ratios.
- Proven experience in financial operations, accounting, and budgeting.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain carrier relationships and identify new opportunities.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of successfully contributing to pricing strategies and financial planning.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and developing a high-performing finance team.
- Adept at collaborating with Corporate Development teams to align financial and strategic goals.

Base Salary
The base salary range is between $220,000-$330,000 annually.
Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
