Head of Global Digital Commerce & Omnichannel Sales Analytics

The Global One Demand Data & Analytics (ODDA) team is a very entrepreneurial and new division set up to drive innovation and positive disruption within Mars Wrigley leveraging machine learning and AI. Through advanced Data & Analytics, we are able to bring vision to Mars Wrigley in a user-centric and one-demand way to solve the fuzziest problems.
The Head of Global Digital Commerce & Omnichannel Sales Analytics is a key senior business translator role needed for our continued journey at Mars Wrigley. This role is to support program-based advanced analytics solutions that enable growth for local and global Digital Commerce and Omnichannel Retail. This role focuses on driving the North America Omnichannel Analytics team toward best-in-class advanced analytics capabilities with an emphasis on strong stakeholder engagement and business partnership while working cross-functionally with other peers and domain functional leaders locally and globally to learn, execute, and embed capabilities. North America is a market where new solutions are built to scale globally. This role will report to the Global Head & Director of Omnichannel Analytics.
What are we looking for?
• Master's degree in Management, Business Administration, Analytics, Data Science, and related fields preferred
• Overall, 12+ years of work experience; Minimum of 6 years' experience in analytics/analysis and business engagement-related roles.
• Minimum 3 years of analytics-related experience in the Consumer Package Goods (CPG) Industry
• Minimum 5 years of people management experience preferred. The role will manage 2 to 4 individuals in the near term
• Entrepreneurial individual who develops and holds advanced analytics vision within Digital Commerce - Ecommerce and Omnichannel Retail.
• Minimum 5 years' experience supporting Digital Commerce or Omnichannel Retail with customer sales teams (e.g., Walmart, Target, Kroger, Amazon, Instacart, etc. sales teams)
• Ability to understand business requirements, and frame business needs and problems with design thinking or other frameworks. In addition, ability to lead self and direct reports in end-to-end advanced analytics plans and execution. Strategy planning experience is a plus
• Ability to effectively engage and influence senior stakeholders and support analytics capabilities for business embedment, value, and omnichannel vision.
• Work with business product owners across U.S. Retail Sales (Walmart, Target, Kroger, etc.), Ecommerce Sales (Amazon, Instacart, DoorDash, etc.), Digital Capability (ecommerce content and search) teams to define strategic execution plans and roadmaps, ensure stakeholders are engaging with capabilities delivered through product training, included in annual planning processes, and strategic insights stewardship
• Collaboratively work with both internal and external data engineering, data science, and DevOps teams and third-party companies to ensure the right outcomes are delivered through the BI tools and models
• Works collaboratively with other functional domains and peers (Marketing, Portfolio, Revenue Management, Category, Portfolio) to develop one-demand connected roadmaps and enablement
• Strong articulation skills to present insights and recommendations from exploratory analysis, advanced data outcomes, models, and optimizations to senior business stakeholders in their nomenclature
• For such projects, you will be responsible for own and team execution of the full program lifecycle from conception to prototyping, user testing, deploying, execution, measurement, and value realization for the business
• Knowledge of, and experience a bonus, in multiple of the following in use for omnichannel retail and/or ecommerce analytics/analysis: Joint Business Planning (JBP), sales execution, search/keyword or digital shelf optimization, promotions or trade optimization, category analytics, shopper analytics, price - pack architecture, media mix modeling, demand-side-platforms (DSP), Customer Data Platforms (CDP), attribution models, forecasting, and other predictive modeling
• Knowledge of, and experience using key internal and external retail, customer, and ecommerce data to unlock value. Includes familiarity with sources such as Nielsen/ IRI/ Store views, 1010Data, Stackline, Amazon Vendor Central, Edge by Ascential data, CommerceIQ, eFundamentals / Profitero or other related panel data, Shopper card/panel (84.51, Walmart Luminate, Dunhumby, etc.), Retailer POS/ePOS, digital shelf data, other Amazon data/tools, Retailer Media (Walmart Connect, Amazon Ads/AMC, Roundel, Pacvue, Skai, etc.), and Supply Chain and Revenue Growth data
What will be your key responsibilities?
• Develops and holds product vision for connected omnichannel and ecommerce insights, working with the business leaders and stakeholders to determine strategic roadmap and prioritization for North America and for a global scale
• Shape the North American team vision/roadmap in delivering product features oriented around business needs, strategic processes, and incubating toward Global-scalable programs
• Shape and prioritize the backlog, utilizing business expertise and understanding of customer needs, translate requirements into user stories and tangible business use cases
• Strong product/program engagement through self and team management/training/insights delivery to business product owners/stakeholders in collaboration with the U.S. Regional ODDA Lead
• Balance business value with technical feasibility while prioritizing stories and features, optimizing costs, and improving delivery efficiency
• Manages and builds effective teams, provides functional leadership, and develops others
• Drive engagement and project management with third-party and internal analytics and tech companies in support of building analytics solutions.
• Build strong, influential working relationships at all organizational levels across different functional teams. Bring together business leaders to develop long-term omnichannel-focused strategies - specifically for traditional customer sales teams and ecommerce teams
• Provide a strategic mindset to drive business understanding and engagement with omnichannel retail and ecommerce advanced analytics solutions
• Drive the business understanding for the team to ensure the team "builds the right thing" and guides towards the "right vision" to deliver best-in-class analytics solutions
• The candidate would be expected to travel to the Newark, NJ office monthly to bi-monthly for North America Analytics' key meetings and stakeholder management. These meetings typically fall on Tuesday or Wednesday and are key days to be in an office. Some e-commerce stakeholders and business leaders are also in our Chicago, IL office. Candidates will be on some early morning Global virtual meetings, as early as 6 am or 7 am depending on the time zone. However, they can adjust hours accordingly. Open to other candidate locations if able to travel frequently to Newark, NJ
