Join us as the Global Head of HR Operations!
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Global Head of HR Operations to join our Human Resources Team. In this role you will serve as a key member of the HR Leadership team and ensure operational effectiveness across the global HR function. You will understand and evaluate all of HR's operational processes, assess and prioritize improvements, and drive the creation of data analytics to track productivity and effectiveness.
You will oversee our Global HR Operations Services functions, which include Global Payroll, HRDirect (our inquiry response service), HR Operations, HR Reporting and Analytics, Employee Pre-Boarding, as well as our HR Project Delivery and Advisory discipline. You'll work closely with the Head of HR Business Technology in continuing to evolve our HR platform strategy to reduce our cost to serve, improve our control environment, and provide a best-in-class user experience for our employees. You'll serve as the Workday product owner for the firm and lead our efforts to continue to expand its capabilities. You will also be responsible for creating a high-performing HR Operations function that will better serve the HR team and the broader organization.
In addition to your leadership responsibilities, you will work with other HR Centers of Excellence (knowledge centers) and HR subject matter experts to ensure that new process workflows are effective, efficient, in alignment with overall HR Strategy and HR global policies, and that they both adhere to risk and compliance requirements and controls and create an optimal employee experience.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance the user experience, promote a "best-in-class" control environment, and reduce HR's overall cost to serve
- Management of a multi-disciplined team of 40+ FTE globally, including budgeting, performance management, coaching, etc.
- Partnering with key stakeholders to lead process improvement initiatives and development of new products and workflows to improve efficiency, effectiveness and control.
- Developing and implementing global procedures and controls to support globally compliant processes effectively and efficiently in the HR Operations area and establishing effective engagement and communication plans to ensure organizational awareness and adoption of key HR Processes, Policies, and initiatives.
- Promoting proactive approaches to using Workday to solve business needs/problems, while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of technology capabilities
- Ensuring service levels and overall contribution of HRdirect, HR Operations & Reporting, Pre-Boarding and Payroll are meeting or exceeding expectations and agreed goals. You will establish and monitor key KPIs & SLAs to oversee global service management across the functions
- Working closely with HR Business Partners and HR Centers of Expertise to ensure effective definition and delivery of services.
- Focusing on risk management - including the development and maintenance of strong process controls while ensuring that all HR Operational processes are aligned with regulations, risk, compliance, and BCP policies
- Creating an HR Analytics & Reporting program in collaboration with HR Business Technology and key stakeholders within HR and across the business; play a lead role in driving effective data management & architecture frameworks
- Leading the HR Project Management team, including the demand management process and budget planning to prioritize strategic projects across HR.
- Serving as senior vendor manager for HR, managing relationships with vendors that support HR Operations to ensure high levels of service delivery in line with team goals/objective.
Key Competencies:
- Ability to manage and direct the consistent delivery and adoption of HR services across multiple disciplines, stakeholders and regions
- Display discretion when handling confidential/sensitive information
- Ability to lead a global team and possess excellent interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural environment; strong communication and influencing skills in different cultures and/or hierarchical levels
- Expertise in facilitating process improvements both from an operational and technology perspective.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels
- Adaptability and flexibility to shift between projects or priorities
- Ability to translate detailed, complex information into consolidated key messages for Senior Management
- Strong results and client- orientation
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
- 10-15+ years Operations experience with expertise in HR technology and processes
- Deep operational processing experience with strong risk management and client service orientation
- Knowledge of Workday is strongly desirable.
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience leading a planning and budgeting process
- Strong vendor management experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and foster:

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $200,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York, NY and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
