Job Description Summary
The Head of Human Resources will provide leadership and direction for all company-wide HR needs, translating strategic priorities into human resources initiatives and service delivery. This role must create an environment of collaboration, communication, and inclusion across the organization. He/she will provide expertise in effective employee relations practices and to support a positive and collaborative work culture.
- Bachelor's degree: Human Resources, Organization Development, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of fifteen-years' experience in HR, with at least 5 years of senior level HR leadership.
- PHR or SPHR Certification desired.
- Industry experience within Healthcare, Education/Academic, or Non-profits can be beneficial.
- Background/experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and/or preventive labor relations preferred.
- Multi-facility and multi-state HR experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the implementation of Human Resources programs through Human Resources staff. Monitors administration of established standards and procedures throughout the organization and identifies opportunities for improvement and resolves any discrepancies.
- Collaboration with management team in providing organizational leadership and direction to assist in successfully leading their teams. Provide guidance and coaching to senior management; consult employees/supervisors as needed to facilitate effective performance/behavior solutions.
- Directs a process of organizational Human Resources planning that evaluates provincial structure, job design, and personnel forecasting throughout the organization. Evaluates plans and recommends plan changes with emphasis on skill needs, diversity, inclusion, employee development and productivity.
- Establishes the compensation structure, pay policies, and oversees the variable pay systems within the organization including bonuses and raises.
- Formulates and recommends Human Resources policies and objectives for the organization regarding employee
- Leads the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans (PDPs) and employee development programs.
- Establishes and leads the recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce. Partner with senior leaders and the HR team to deliver talent management practices that attract and develop high-potential, diverse top talent for the organization to support the business needs.
