Head of Institutional Sales
Job Description
Our Capital Markets sales team works with institutional investors across multiple asset classes and investment styles. They develop relationships with investors and identify opportunities to articulate changes in policy and help our clients capitalize on those changes in the public markets. We do this through our idea driven research product, access to our expert analysts, sales coverage, and our in-person policy days; where we convene stakeholders on both sides of a debate to help investors get an edge on a trade idea.
We are looking for an experienced professional to lead and train our team of 5-6 capital markets sales professionals of various experience levels. It is expected you will become fluent in and navigate products effectively across a broad range of clients, along with idea generation and market insight. In addition, you will bring a collaborative approach working with our business partners in research and content strategy to provide consistent feedback regarding client needs to ensure we are effectively positioning ourselves in the market. The ideal candidate has the ability, and desire, to manage, lead, and train a team of salespeople. They will also have strong intellectual curiosity, a passion for financial markets, a high degree of organization and attention to detail, and the ability to perform well under high pressure situations with the appropriate degree of urgency.

Responsibilities
- Setting and ensuring execution of the strategic vision for the capital markets sales team
- Managing a team of 5-6 people and ensuring they hit their revenue targets and KPIs
- Training and instilling experience and know-how to all levels of the sale team and broader organization
- Executing the firm’s daily morning Capital Market Team/Analyst Meeting
- Managing 5-10 strategic accounts across asset classes and investment styles to keep your finger on the pulse of the market and client needs in real time
- Working cross functionally to help shape content based on client needs, feedback, and signals from the Market.
Qualifications
- Established track record of leading a team to hit KPIs and revenue targets
- Proven ability to manage a team through the whole lifecycle of a sale
- Demonstrable success in new business development, working with both new and existing customers, delivering growth in a sales environment
- Leadership experience, demonstrates capability to teach, train and lead people by example.
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Grit, tenacity and a drive to succeed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Displays strong character and shows commitment to the company by working together and adding value to achieve success
Requirements
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in institutional equity sales
- Minimum 3-5 years sales personnel management
- Bachelor’s degree
- Legally authorized to work in the US and will not require now or in the future visa sponsorship
- Series 7 & 63 (preferred)
