Requirements

The Role

The Head of People will be a key member of our executive team and responsible for all human resource-related matters for the company, including supporting our positive, company culture; recruiting, training and nurturing our team; and ensuring that every member of our team is inspired to perform at their best.

Responsibilities• Partner with the CEO, COO and other senior executives to scale the business with a people-first culture• Lead the People team and develop cohesive strategies to drive business outcomes across all departments• Drive a positive employee experience, from initial recruiting to on-going development and engagement• Design and create people programs that support our team and mission• Ensure operational excellence within the People team through development of scaled systems and processes• Oversee company recruitment efforts, including improving existing tools and processes as needed• Identify and track organizational performance metrics across the People department• Bring knowledge of HR policies, programs, laws and best practices to the company, and ensure Common Energy is in compliance• Mediate employee relations and performance issues as needed, and provide counsel to fellow managers on appropriate methods of managing performance• Contribute to a fun, positive work environment!

Who We're Looking For • You are a positive people person who is excited to build a nurturing corporate culture and inspiring teams • You have 7+ years of HR experience, ideally in an HR team leadership role • You have prior startup experience and have built HR systems, processes and programs from inception • You have a track record of building and supporting a positive company culture with high employee engagement and a team growth mentality • You have a deep understanding of lifecycle recruiting, setting and negotiating employee compensation, and HR policies • You value and understand best practices with respect to diversity, equity and inclusion • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills • You have a passion for clean energy and positive environmental impact
