As we embark on our next phase of accelerated growth, we are looking to hire an experienced and strategic Head of People to lead all aspects of our global People functions and be responsible for developing and executing People strategies that align with our business and operational goals, attract and retain top talent, and promote a positive and inclusive work environment. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively across functions, build trusting relationships, possess strong communication skills, thrive on solving problems, have strong analytical and data driven skills, and be able to understand and manage risk and change.
This position will report to our Co-Founder and CFO and is based in Austin, Texas.
What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
- Partner with our Co-Founders and global leadership team to design and implement People strategies and plans to support the achievement of the Company’s business objectives and priorities
- Act as the business partner to our Co-Founders and global leadership team and advise and execute on all People-related matters
- Provide overall guidance and leadership for global talent acquisition, career development, employee training, employee relations, performance management, leadership development and succession planning
- Foster a flexible workforce and organization strategy that identifies current gap areas and develops plans to acquire, grow, and develop talent to meet current and future needs
- Develop total reward programs and strategies to continue to attract top talent and retain an engaged workforce
- Design and provide detailed reporting and data analytics to drive business and People decisions
- Leverage best practices and technology to drive efficiency, improve functionality, enhance employee experience and ensure scalability across HR systems, policies and processes
- Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to create a workplace that values and respects the contributions of all employees
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations, and ethical standards, and oversee HR policies and procedures to mitigate risks
- Provide thought leadership on HR best practices and industry trends, staying abreast of developments that could impact the organization
What experiences and skills are necessary to be successful in this role:
- 14+ years of proven People leadership experience in a high-growth environment, preferably in technology, software or similar industry
- Demonstrated track record of building and managing world-class, global teams through both recruitment and development, across a variety of functions, including HRBP, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, etc.
- Adept in HR administration principles, with strong technical proficiency across all key functional areas and global experience
- Strong business acumen and proven effectiveness as an advisor, collaborating directly with executives to provide a People perspective in organizational decisions and develop strategic plans
- Proven track record of designing and implementing programs to attract, develop, and retain a high-performing and engaged workforce
- Ability to operate strategically while also executing tactically, with a focus on both vision-setting and solution-driven action
- Must be collaborative, flexible, innovative, approachable and is able to develop and maintain trust at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage change, solve problems and work in ambiguous situations
- Thorough knowledge of employment law and regulations
- Experience researching, developing, and presenting cost/benefit analysis
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging audiences ranging from entry-level staff to executives.
- Expertise in coaching, mentoring, and developing staff across various functions and levels.
