The Opportunity
As the Head of People at XP Health, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company culture, scaling our team, and ensuring that we attract, develop, and retain top talent. This is a unique opportunity to lead People Operations in a high-growth, innovative startup environment and make a significant impact on our journey. You will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support our business objectives, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Your work will directly influence the employee experience, driving engagement, performance, and retention at every level of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the company's people strategy, including onboarding/offboarding, L&D, workforce planning, and org design in partnership with senior executive leaders.
- Design and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction and retention.
- Lead efforts to assess and improve company culture (including Engagement Survey, All Hands, Company Retreat, Boba Chats, social/impact activities, etc).
- Develop and implement performance management systems, career pathing, and programs to support growth for both managers and individual contributors.
- Serve as a strategic HR business partner to leadership and managers, facilitating sensitive conversations including performance improvement planning and conflict resolution
- Own and drive XP's talent acquisition and retention strategy.
- Lead and manage the recruiting team.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with company culture and values.
- Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with company goals and market trends.
- Ensure compliance with any relevant employment laws and regulations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in HR/People Operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in a high-growth tech startup environment is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful People Operations strategies.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Passion for fostering a positive and inclusive company culture.
- Ability to work in our San Carlos office at least 3 days a week.
CA Pay Range
$155,000—$175,000 USD
