What You’ll Do
The Head of People will shape and execute Relocity’s People strategy, overseeing Talent Acquisition (TA) and Human Resources (HR) to unlock the full potential of our global workforce. Reporting to the COO, you’ll lead efforts to enhance company culture—particularly among our team of “Personal Hosts”— and position Relocity as an employer of choice.
This role requires a strategic leader who thrives on driving human capital performance through innovative HR programs that align with business and talent goals. You’ll bring a balance of big-picture thinking and hands-on execution to elevate our culture, strengthen engagement, and ensure our distributed workforce is set up for success. If you are a forward-thinking leader who can proactively identify and address business needs, drive impactful people strategies, and inspire trust across all levels of the organization, this may be an ideal match.
How You’ll Do It
- Design and execute a global People strategy that drives business priorities and scales with growth.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee experience, satisfaction, and retention through programs that reflect our values.
- Own the Talent Acquisition strategy to attract and retain top-tier talent.
- Create a world-class, remote-friendly culture with initiatives that engage and energize a distributed global workforce.
- Master the complexities of scaling a global workforce, including part time, non-exempt employees, while ensuring compliance with United States, particularly California, and international employment standards.
- Develop strategies to unify a diverse, global team and foster inclusivity across regions.
What Past Experience and Current Skills Will Enable Your Success In This Role? Who You Are:
A Leader & Operator in a Scale Up Environment
- You seamlessly balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, stepping in where needed to drive results.
- A lean operator, you thrive in building efficient, scalable processes and delivering value on tight budgets.
A Maximizer of Human Capital
- You view HR as a driver of business outcomes, optimizing performance across the organization.
- You have a proven track record of elevating talent effectiveness and organizational impact.
Data-driven LeaderÂ
- Proactive problem-solver who leverages HR metrics to anticipate needs, drive strategic initiatives, and deliver measurable results.
A Global & Distributed Workforce Veteran
- You’ve led People initiatives for distributed teams, navigating cultural, legal, and operational complexities across US, EMEA, and APAC regions.
- You’re skilled at creating cohesive strategies for remote and part-time workforces.
If books like these are on your “must-read” list, we’re already speaking the same language:
- Good to Great by Jim Collins – because talent trumps everything.
- The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni – because cohesive teams are the foundation of scalability.
- No Ego by Cy Wakeman – because HR should maximize talent and minimize drama.
Experience and Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of HR leadership with a mix of HR and TA expertise, with a significant portion spent in a scale up SaaS or technology enabled services environment
- Deep expertise in implementing, optimizing, and integrating HR tech tools like BambooHR, Greenhouse, Culture Amp, and Lattice, with a strong focus on leveraging data insights to inform and drive strategic decisions.
- Proven expertise in building and scaling HR functions for tech and service organizations, fueling growth in fast-paced, distributed environments—this skill is mission-critical.
- Deep experience managing non-exempt service delivery teams, particularly in California, with a pulse on their unique challenges and opportunities.
- Comprehensive understanding of California employment laws, including regulations specific to remote, part-time, and non-exempt employees.
- Proven experience managing PEO relationships, transitioning from/to PEOs and EORs, streamlining co-employment models, and leveraging PEO services to drive efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence.
