POSITION OVERVIEW
To bring us into our next chapter, weโre looking for a transformative leader to join us as our Head of People for our flagship NY office.
In this role you will help create and drive the vision for our People discipline focused on a People Strategy that will transform us from a creatively driven company to a creatively driven, impact focused and human centered creative agency that attracts and retains amazingly talented people.
You will create equitable and inclusive experience across the employee lifecycle, be a catalyst for innovation and champion new ways to advance our people experience.
You will work closely with the AKQA and the WPP network to ensure we are leveraging best practices and subject matter experts.
You will have a matrixed reporting relationship, reporting to the People lead with accountability to the Grey NY CEO.
You will partner with our Grey NY executive team, and act as a key advisor on organizational strategies.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Oversee a team of 17 people (HR Generalists + Talent Acquisition Team) and help evolve the current team structure to meet the new vision for the People discipline and the role it will play within the organization. This includes investing in the growth and development of the people team.
- Ensure our Talent Acquisition team are employer brand advocates with the tools to attract the best talent and that GREY reflects the world we live in.
- Ensure we have a best-in-class talent development approach that intentionally grows and develops our people and our leaders to fuel a culture where everyone can do their best work, is valued, and can grow in both their crafts and careers.
- Work closely with our executive team to ensure consistent progress against our goal to become 1) a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace 2) have a diverse, equitable and inclusive strategic and creative process
- Working closely with our total rewards experts to lead a competitive compensation and total rewards strategy and ensure clarity and equity across the organization
- Act as a trusted partner and coach to the members of the executive leadership team
- In partnership with the Executive team, drive the effort to refine, document, and communicate the studioโs culture, core values, and DEI strategies

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Significant experience and substantial knowledge of progressive HRBP leadership experience
- HR knowledge and experience for staffing, benefits, compliance, and compensation
- Experience in working with executive team on DEI frameworks and strategies
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Experience building successful people programs and initiatives, consensus, and comfortable having both strategic and tactical responsibilities
- Proven success with employee development, talent acquisition, organization design, and performance management
- Expertise in anticipating issues across the organization and recognizing opportunities and proactively developing initiatives
- Certifications in HR helpful (SHRM-CP, PHR, GPHR)
