Salary Range 

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $190,000 - $230,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Location

• Option to work remotely full-time or to work as a hybrid in-office/remote employee
• Can be based anywhere in the U.S., with the expectation that candidate will primarily work ET hours
• Occasional trips to New York headquarters or other locations for company events or meetings

Experience / Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Director, Senior Director, or VP) managing technical teams
• Strong experience in cloud computing, specifically AWS, SRE models, specifically infra-as-code, and knowledge of networking, security, and storage solutions
• Deep understanding of infrastructure architecture and design principles
• Experience in managing large-scale, high-performance infrastructure systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices with proficient experience in software development, with expertise in coding and programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript. 
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred

Job Description

Avenue One is seeking a talented and motivated Head of Platform Infrastructure to join our infrastructure team. This unique role is designed for individuals who have previously held senior positions such as Director, Senior Director, or VP of Infrastructure and are looking to contribute their experience and expertise to our organization in a hands-on and mentoring capacity. 

As an Head of Platform Infrastructure, you will collaborate with our Enterprise Architects, CloudOps Engineers, Solution Architects, and Security Engineers to oversee the development and maintenance of our cloud-based infrastructure. You will bring your extensive knowledge of infrastructure architecture, devops, an SRE model, cloud computing, and networking to help shape the future of our infrastructure and coach our technical teams to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead and manage the Infrastructure team including DevOps Engineers and SRE’s responsible for developing, maintaining, and scaling Avenue One's cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define infrastructure requirements and develop strategies to align with the company's business goals and objectives
• Ensure adherence to industry best practices and standards for infrastructure design and implementation
• Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, driving innovation, and operational efficiency in the infrastructure domain
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, mentoring, and coaching team members on best practices and infra-as-code approach
• Manage and collaborate with project managers on infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components with other systems
• Continuously monitor and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of the infrastructure, ensuring that it meets the needs of our customers
• Develop and implement AWS cost optimization strategies, ensuring efficient resource utilization and minimizing infrastructure expenses
