About the role:

Alcon is looking to hire a Head of Platform Services for our Digital Health team to lead the design and build of Digital Health dedicated platforms services that are re-usable and scalable across three Digital Health innovation hubs ('Lighthouses).

Our Digital Health team is harnessing technology to build a leading portfolio of digital health solutions that will transform the eye care experience for medical professionals to patients and enable improved patient outcomes - from a predictive health care delivery platform harnessing ML and analytics to innovative medical device software.

As Head of Platform Services, you will work closely with Head of Technology and broader enterprise IT to ensure commitment, delivery and consistent adoption of enterprise-provided foundational services. You will manage the Digital Marketing products (e.g., websites) that serve both Digital Health products and broader enterprise needs (e.g., Franchise by regions). Reporting directly to our Global Head, Digital Health, you will interact with leaders across the business. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and define clear vision for how platform services will support Lighthouse products, with a strong focus on re-usability and scalability
• Drives decision making and manages intersections on platform services with enterprise IT counterparts & Head of Tech
• Leads Digital Marketing team to design and manage digital marketing strategy for Alcon and omnichannel campaigns for both Digital Health and enterprise needs
• Designs and builds platform teams and determines sourcing strategy for critical capabilities needed (e.g., Technical PM)
• Trains and coaches platform teams, ensuring capability development
• Acts as an interface to Alcon enterprise technology leadership and teams
• Develops and maintains OKRs and KPIs for platform service teams to drive progress
• Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders across broader enterprise to help enable digital vision

Preferred Experiences:

For this role, we are looking for someone that is

• Experienced:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ leading multiple product teams in an agile setting when deploying platforms
  • Track record of successfully building enterprise platforms services in a SaaS software organization and/or within healthcare space
  • Experienced in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.)
• Domain Expertise:
  • Extensive experience with automated infrastructure service delivery practices such as infrastructure as code, test driven deployment and DevOps
  • Understands technical concepts in SaaS and cloud native environments required to manage delivery and launch of cloud-based solutions
  • Familiar with entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile Development, DevOps, and Scrum
  • Proficient in digital marketing and omnichannel concepts (e.g., websites, search, SEO, social media, social listening, mobile applications, data management platforms)
  • Strong understanding of segmentation/audience development for use in testing and personalization
• Collaborative: An open and respectful leader, that enjoys working in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment; able to respect other points of view and put the good of the organization ahead of personal interests
• Creative: Willing to challenge the status quo; able to understand when and how to take appropriate risks to drive performance. Excited about piloting new technology solutions to continuously improve the tech stack
• A strong communicator: Strong communication and influencing skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization (verbally and written); manage organizational dynamics, interfaces and demands; effectively brings alignment across teams towards agreed-upon objectives and influence critical decisions
