About This Role

As the first communications hire, you will be responsible for building and leading Robin AI’s PR & Comms function, reporting directly into the CEO.

Generative AI is a once-in-a-generation leap forward in technology and the hottest topic of the moment. You will leverage this to build a communications strategy that positions Robin AI as a winner in this fast evolving market and thought leader in the real world application of artificial intelligence.

You will oversee and drive the execution of PR programmes in the US and UK initially, partnering with agencies to deliver press coverage that raises awareness of Robin AI, differentiates us from other companies in the market and promotes and protects our reputation. You will collaborate closely with other functions, ie marketing, to ensure that PR is aligned to and supporting company initiatives and goals.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years’ experience either in-house or in agency developing and executing impactful PR programmes with a technology, B2B focus. This is a hands-on role that will be a thought partner to the Founders on story telling and narrative development, and able to work with agency partners to drive the best possible results.

What you’ll do

• Build and own the delivery of a comprehensive PR strategy for the company
• Develop a thought leadership programme that allows Robin AI to cut through into mainstream media outlets, capitalising on the strong interest in AI. This will involve identifying key, big picture topics and developing compelling content to speak to them
• Partner with cross functional leaders to identify and build a news pipeline, including both product and customer news
• Support executive attendance at the key industry events
• Support executive social media activities
• Build and nurture relationships with key press outlets
• Scale the PR operation as the company continues to grow at a rapid rate
• Be responsible for managing PR around any potential reputational issues that might occur
• Own measurement and evaluation of PR activities
• Manage budget and resource allocation for PR

Qualifications / Profile

• At least 10 year’s experience in delivering impactful PR campaigns with a focus on tech/B2B 
• Ability to think strategically while also being comfortable getting stuck into execution
• A passion for innovation and technology, strong interest in what’s going on in the industry and ability to identify key narratives to tap into. Ideally, also an understanding of artificial intelligence and the potential it offers (as well as issues involved). Experience in legal tech a plus but not a requirement
• A strong storyteller with proven experience in delivering successful thought leadership campaigns
• An excellent writer
• Experience running PR campaigns across multiple markets. Must have experience in either the UK or US (ideally both)
• Strong understanding of the media landscape in either the UK or US (ideally both) and preferably good media contacts in either market
• Comfortable working in a fast paced start up environment
• Experience in managing and getting the most from agency partners or extensive agency background
• A collaborative and solutions-focused working style

Compensation

• Salary: $125,000 - $185,000

This is a hybrid role, and requires working out of our NY office 2-3 days per week.
