Summary:
The Child Mind Institute (CMI) is seeking a Head of Product, Augmented Reality for the California Initiative Next-Generation Digital Therapeutics (NGDT) program. The Head of Product will be responsible for managing the definition, development, and launch of innovative platforms that address child mental health through a partnership between CMI and the State of California. The California Initiative, NGDT, is being launched to rapidly innovate mental health therapeutics and treatment response monitoring tools for children and adolescents using emerging technologies including augmented reality, virtual reality, and biometrics. Smartphone, web, and metaverse platforms will be the primary focus of the program, with potential explorations into wearable devices and other emerging technologies included as well. The NGDT will require creativity, imagination, and energy to develop, evaluate and scale novel technologies focused on mental health and learning disabilities. The Head of Product position provides the opportunity to engage with a broad range of clinicians, policy-makers, researchers, and community leaders.
Established in 2011, the CMI Research program plays a critical part in accelerating the pace of discovery in the neuroscience of child mental health and learning. The CMI scientific culture is defined by innovation, impact, breaking down research silos that slow progress, and the development of scalable solutions that achieve timely and appropriate diagnoses and interventions.
The Head of Product will work with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, researchers, clinicians, and data scientists, both in- and outside of CMI, to build new products, using cutting-edge augmented reality and computer vision technology.
The Head of Product must have leadership experience and the ability to multitask in a high-energy environment. Reporting to the Vice President of Research and the Program Director for the NGDT, this is an exempt, full-time position located in New York.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Drive the execution of all processes in the product life cycle, including product and user research, requirements and roadmap development, technical development, and product launch.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and development by design and engineering teams.
- Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, individual use cases, technical requirements, and potential revenue and ROI.
- Build consensus around product priorities to drive execution.
- Define and evaluate success metrics to guide product strategy and roadmaps.
- Manage market and user research to assess needs and tailor solutions to users.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, clinicians, researchers, and data. scientists in the conception, development, QA, and release of products, and balance resources to ensure success for the entire organization.
- Move quickly and efficiently to execute product roadmaps and in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of product management experience.
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree.
- Mission-driven, and excited about working in the mental health space.
- Experience working and achieving success with diverse stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and experience building products from the ground up through to launch.
- Experience working with remote software engineering, design, and research teams.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
