Job Description:

The Head of TDAF Product is a strategic, responsible and accountable member of the TD Auto Finance U.S. leadership team. The Head of U.S. Product sets the cultural, organizational, and performance standard for the team and is expected to lead the TDAF Product organization including Product Strategy, Development, Systems, Management, Pricing, and Partnerships for both the consumer and commercial divisions of the organization. The role also has responsibility for the coordination of all Communications for all stakeholders and constituents.

The Head of TDAF Product is expected to make an impact, build for the future, inspire the will to win, and show excellent judgment in leading a team to ensure products are aligned with customer demand. Through collaboration with key business partners, the Head of U.S. Product is accountable for the end-to-end P&L including portfolio volumes, margin, and expenses. The position is responsible to lead, coach and develop a team of leaders that create distinguished products in the marketplace.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Provides vision, leadership and strategic guidance in developing and implementing Company products, services and programs including features, benefits and characteristics that meet customer needs and are priced to meet Company and shareholder objectives
  • Develops product strategies to build TDAF market share and drive overall profitability to the organization
  • Sets communication strategy and tactics for dealers, consumers, employees and on-line
  • Acts as the expert on the market and its problems.
  • Maintains vigilance gathering industry expert opinions and qualitative market data for different market segments
  • Develops competitive and market intelligence to ensure TDAF products are on the cutting edge of market trends and meeting consumer demand
  • Keeps abreast of emerging issues and evolving regulatory requirements to identify opportunities and assess impact to the company
  • Provides strategic leadership and direction establishing differentiated products and services for multiple lending channels
  • Owns product innovation and upstream development processes levers customer and business insights to deliver future product pipeline and enhance existing product features to drive sales success
  • Oversees the development of pricing and programs for all products, ensuring they are priced with the right profitability measures and market elasticity
  • Develops strategic direction in coordination with the Executive Management, ensuring all leadership activities align with corporate objectives

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
  • 10+ years auto finance, consumer banking or financial services experience
  • 10+ years management experience preferred
  • Proven senior management leadership skills to lead a department of auto finance experts
  • Possesses superior coaching skills and high Emotional Intelligence
  • Possesses strong business acumen and is savvy from an organizational perspective
  • Drives continuous quality and performance improvement
  • Leads through collaboration and teamwork
  • Develops talent and understands the impact talent has on the business strategy
