Job Title: Head of QA, System Test, and Automation

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join Nutanix as the Head of QA, System Test, and Automation. As the senior executive overseeing the Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products and services, with a specific emphasis on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), hypervisors, storage, filesystems, and networking. This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will manage large teams, oversee managers/directors, and contribute to the growth and development of senior leadership within the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Quality Assurance department, managing large teams and overseeing managers/directors responsible for specific areas of QA, system testing, and automation.
2. Develop and execute a comprehensive quality assurance strategy and roadmap for system testing and automation, focusing on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), hypervisors, networking, filesystems, and storage.
3. Collaborate closely with other senior leaders to align quality assurance efforts with overall business goals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services that meet customer expectations.
4. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the QA organization, promoting the growth and development of senior leaders and high-performing teams.
5. Drive the establishment of quality standards, processes, and best practices for system testing and automation, ensuring adherence across the organization.
6. Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of test frameworks, tools, and automation scripts to enable efficient and effective testing and verification of system components and functionalities.
7. Provide guidance and support in conducting risk assessments, identifying potential quality issues, and recommending mitigation strategies.
8. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to IaaS, hypervisors, networking, filesystems, and storage, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in quality assurance practices.
9. Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to the growth and development of the organization, including the identification and nurturing of senior leadership talent.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
2. Proven leadership experience (10+ years) and technical experience (12+ years) in quality assurance, system testing, and automation, with a focus on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), hypervisors, networking, filesystems, and storage.
3. Demonstrated experience in managing large, geographically dispersed teams and overseeing managers/directors, with a track record of building and developing high-performing senior leadership.
4. Strong knowledge and expertise in IaaS platforms, virtualization technologies, hypervisors (e.g., VMware, KVM), networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN), filesystems, and storage technologies.
5. Proficiency in designing and implementing system test strategies, plans, and test cases in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
6. Expertise in developing and maintaining test frameworks, tools, and automation scripts using languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
7. Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, JIRA).
8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize testing needs and risks effectively.
9. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
