Democratize Access To Credit 

Together we’ll dismantle barriers to housing for working families and use data to eliminate the racial wealth gap. The ability to build credit from rental payments has the potential to give over 45 million renters with little to no credit a pathway into the financial system. Those individuals then stand to save over $200,000 in reduced lifetime interest payments, build home equity by qualifying for mortgages, and build wealth by passing job screening requirements. The transformational impact of this cannot be understated.


Sales Team

We are looking for an experienced head of sales to lead a team of passionate, collaborative and driven Account Executives and Sales Development Representatives. We are a startup, but think like an established company. We have a mission and vision that every employee connects with, especially the sales organization who meets with clients daily to evangelize Esusu. We are a team that shares a mind with our real estate owner/operator partners, and shares a heart with the resident users we serve. Esusu is in hyper growth mode, so it’s time to capitalize and add a strong, results-driven leader to our sales organization.


The challenge

We’re looking for a sales leader who will enable and motivate the sales team to provide the best experience & service to our prospective clients while taking our growth to new heights. This candidate will need to embody adaptive leadership skills to drive results in our rapidly changing environment, accurately forecast and track revenue metrics for the team, and support the evolution of our go-to-market (GTM) strategy. Ideally, this person will have commercial real estate experience–particularly within rental housing–and seasoned industry relationships to help drive sales. 


What you will help us deliver

  • Grow, develop and lead a team of account executives and sales development leads
  • Anticipate and execute on team needs, including but not limited to additional headcount, revised structure, etc.
  • Help the team of dedicated sales professionals prioritize, more effectively prospect, and reach their fullest potential
  • Establish relationships with clients’ senior-level executives (Heads of ESG, Heads of Asset Management, Heads of Property Management, C-Suite, etc.) at multi-family and single-family owner/operator clients to help drive sales
  • Support sales enablement activity and growth opportunities for the team to drive revenue
  • Find new ways to demonstrate how Esusu drives value to clients
  • Travel on-site to meet with clients, team members, and attend various multifamily real estate events per year to engage potential clients
  • Own, manage and drive towards growth targets
  • Oversee pipeline and forecasting activity (via Salesforce & Salesloft) and other sales metrics & insights to provide visibility to leadership team
  • Be the voice of the Sales team, reporting up and out on progress to goals, roadblocks or challenges, customer feedback, competitive intel, and more
  • Work cross-functionally with Account Management, Customer Experience, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to promote sales enablement and ensure Esusu’s GTM strategy is set up for ongoing success


Core competencies we are hiring for

  • Deep experience leading an expanding, high-growth sales team  - at least 3+ years experience in sales management
  • Commercial real estate experience and acumen with seasoned industry relationships and/or a deep multifamily commercial real estate network is a plus
  • Ability to coach and grow the team to achieve their metrics-driven goals, refine closing skills, and “sell beyond the sale” 
  • Organization skills (detail-oriented) - ability to manage a growing team, steep growth targets, cross-functional collaborations, critical new processes, and more
  • Motivated by over attainment - We don’t want people who will stop at 100% of quota. We are looking for a leader with a history of overperformance who motivates and empowers the team to close as much business as possible.
