Role Overview
The Head of Sales Engineering will be a pivotal leader in our Go-To-Market (GTM) organization, reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). This role is responsible for building and leading a team of highly skilled sales engineers who serve as technical advisors and product advocates during the sales process. Your mission is to bridge the gap between our technology and our customersโ needs, ensuring prospects understand the full value of our solutions.
You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to align on strategic goals, refine messaging, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Build, lead, and mentor a world-class Sales Engineering team to support our GTM efforts.
- Partner with Sales leadership to define and execute a technical pre-sales strategy that drives pipeline and revenue growth.
- Act as the technical authority during the sales process, addressing customer challenges, demonstrating product capabilities, and delivering customized solutions.
- Develop scalable technical sales processes, resources, and training programs to empower the team and enhance sales effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Product Management to communicate market trends, customer feedback, and feature requests.
- Design and deliver compelling product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and RFP responses.
- Establish and track KPIs to measure team performance and ensure alignment with sales goals.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to position the company as a thought leader.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in sales engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership role within a SaaS or software company.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software architecture, cloud solutions, or enterprise technology.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
