Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Head of Securities Lending Client Engagement to join our Securities Lending Team. In this role you will

have oversight for all relationship management and business development activities in the Global Securities Lending business line. Through the creation and execution of a client engagement strategy, this position leads and directs the activities of a team of Securities Lending relationship managers, salespeople and client service representatives to achieve high client satisfaction levels while achieving revenue growth goals. The Head of Securities Lending Client Engagement gathers feedback from clients and prospects to help define product and business strategy and partners closely with senior leaders across BBH business lines, to identify, recommend and leverage broader opportunities for the firm. This individual will have a deep understanding of Securities Lending and its connection across Investor Services.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

Relationship Management

  • Manage the overall securities lending client experience globally.
  • Develop and drive the strategic direction of the relationship management team.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure their understanding of market changes, product development and new revenue opportunities.
  • Navigate and align with internal departments to ensure a consistently high level of client satisfaction with BBH services and products.
  • Serve as an escalation point for client matters and deliverables.
  • Establish BBH client servicing metrics to monitor and evaluate performance against goals.
  • Lead client service team in delivering superior tactical daily service in a cost-effective manner.
  • Establish and maintain relationship objectives, including a proactive service plan, to ensure an exceptional value-added service to clients.

Business Development

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and pursue new securities lending business opportunities.
  • Develop and drive the strategic direction of the sales function.
  • Actively represent GSL in cross organizational sales forums.
  • Engage prospective clients to communicate BBH value proposition and industry developments.
  • Track sales revenue performance against targets and communicate results to GSL and BBH leadership.

Business Management

  • Manage and oversee the activities of a team of Securities Lending Relationship Managers, business development personnel and client service representatives.
  • Ensure relationship and business development activities are achieved consistent with business objectives.
  • Recruit and develop team members as required.
  • Act as member of GSL leadership team regarding all matters impacting the business.
  • Represent and advocate BBH interests in the broader securities lending market through development of marketing content and participating in industry forums (e.g. conference panels)
  • Navigate the firm, partnering closely across firmwide Relationship Management and Business Development Teams

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related discipline required.
  • 10 or more years of relevant work experience, with at least 8 years of securities lending, prime brokerage and/or related industry experience.
  • Experience working in the financial services industry.
  • Prior people management experience.
  • Knowledge of the securities lending industry, market dynamics, competitive landscape and recent trends.
  • Demonstrated relationship management and client service skills, inclusive of C-suite engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of BBH products, services and practices preferred.
  • Experience with global custody and fund accounting preferred.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify, recommend and implement solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
  • Travel required.
