The AR Platform Partnerships team’s vision is to grow Snap’s AR ecosystem by inspiring, educating, and supporting developers to build the best AR with Lens Studio.The team helps protect the long-term health of Snap’s AR ecosystem by constantly balancing the interests of AR creators and developers, our platform products like Camera Kit and Spectacles, consumers, content creators, and Snap.

We’re looking for the Head of Spectacles Developer Ecosystem to join Snap Inc! As a member of the AR Platform Partnerships team focusing on the strategy and growing the Spectacles developer ecosystem. You’ll be responsible for identifying and engaging developers to build for Spectacles across priority verticals, ensuring we bring developers success and impact Snap’s growth with AR. You’ll act as the voice of the Spectacles developer internally to influence & collaborate with cross functional teams such as Snap Lab (Product, UXR), Partnerships, Global Brand Strategy, Camera Platform, and Strategy. 

What you’ll do:

• Define the Spectacles third party developer ecosystem strategy with cross-functional partners and establish its success criteria 

• Build an end to end pipeline to educate, engage, excite, and retain 3rd party developers onto the Spectacles platform with appropriate incentives, resources, and check-points to ensure they successfully build valuable experiences

• Evangelize the voice of the Spectacles developer internally and externally. You will train cross-functional teams to advocate this vision and mission across global initiatives

• Identify developers for partnership opportunities which push the boundaries of AR and collaborate with internal teams to develop processes for successful partnerships

• Maintain regular communication with a growing ecosystem of developers through Discord, email, office hours as well as regular digital events to collate and share product feedback and raise the quality of Lenses on Specs

• Build, develop, retain and motivate a diverse team while recruiting for new members, continually raising the bar for talent and capabilities

• Develop and maintain strategies and an operational playbook for the Spectacles third party developer ecosystem that outlines how developers generate business value through AR technology initiatives at a global scale

• Track and communicate key metrics that help us accomplish our strategic objectives of AR experiences built for Spectacles 

• Manage and allocate Spectacles ecosystem budget to drive the best results for our developers

• Work cross functionally at Snap to bring partners early access to tech and features for specific projects by effectively communicating and managing the relationship with these partners and developers

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail

• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners

• Strong analytical skills which allow for creative methods to achieve results and solve problems cross functionally

• Agile mindset with proven people and resource management skills

• An enthusiast who has a strong passion for the future of AR/VR 

• Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in a fast-moving environment

• Entrepreneurial spirit

• Working understanding of 3D engine software like Lens Studio, Unity and/or 3D modeling and animation software like Maya

Minimum Qualifications: 

• 12+ years of experience in management or leadership roles with a proven track record of building and growing teams with a bachelor’s degree; or 8 years+ and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years+ experience; or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of management experience

• 5+ Experience in the VR/AR, gaming, or developer-focused industry 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ Experience with content, or application ecosystems/platforms
