Job Description Summary

The Head of stable Value Solutions Risk & Capital management is responsible for leading risk and capital management disciplines for Stable Value Solutions (SVS). This role is an integral part of the SVS management team and reports directly to the head of the division into which SVS aligns. This person will be tasked with overseeing all aspects of financial modeling, reserving and financial risk management of the business.Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage stable value risks through effective review, constructive challenge, and meaningful discussion with business leaders emphasizing transparent decision making in alignment with the established SVS risk management framework and governance.
    • Provide leadership to the Synthetic Guaranteed Investment Contract (Synthetic GIC) Actuarial team responsible for managing risk, modeling, and reporting with a focus on business acumen and innovative solutions.
    • Participate in and/or lead governance committees and cross functional working groups.
    • Implement operational and business strategies in alignment with long-term growth objectives.
    • Translate complex financials in a well-designed, intuitive, transparent, and comprehensible manner for intended internal and external audiences.
    • Develop and deliver high level communications and presentations to Executive leadership (e.g., CEO, Risk Committee, Transamerica Management Board).
    • Serve in an advisory role and partner to Client Management to bridge communications with clients.
    • Manage operational budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, actuarial science, or relevant field
  • 12 years of financial services experience including management roles
  • Demonstrable stable value experience and/or synthetic GIC knowledge demonstrable
  • Broad knowledge and experience in financial risk management and/or actuarial science
  • Solid understanding of stable value funds and capital management
  • Experience with liability modeling
  • Strong business acumen balanced with analytical/actuarial skills
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree
  • Asset portfolio experience
  • Derivatives experience
  • Knowledge of risk based capital (RBC) requirements and statutory accounting requirements

Working Conditions

  • Office or hybrid office/remote environment
  • Occasional travel

It is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid in certain Company locations.**

Compensation:

The salary for this position generally ranges between $200,000-$260,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.

Bonus Eligibility:

This position is also eligible for an Annual Bonus, at a targeted percentage, based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance.
