Blackstone Technology & Innovations (BXTi) is the technology team at the core of each of Blackstone's businesses and new growth initiatives. Serving both internal and external clients, we work to build the next generation of systems that manage risk, create efficiency and improve transparency within the firm and across our broad community of investors and portfolio companies.
Blackstone's Global Procurement department seeks a highly motivated, intelligent, and client-focused individual with excellent leadership, communication and negotiating skills to manage a team of category managers and buyers. In addition to managing the sourcing team, this person will lead strategic negotiations with critical suppliers, and explore opportunities for continuous improvement to improve transparency and increase efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the strategic sourcing of Technology, Non-Technology and Market Data categories
- Review and manage productivity of category managers and buyers
- Develop metrics, KPIs and SLAs to manage the team performance and to report to management
- Develop talent by setting objectives and providing continuous feedback
- Evaluate sourcing procedures and processes - and develop a list of continuous improvement opportunities and execute those that deliver the most value to the organization
- Explore technology solutions and partner with the technology teams to identify and implement solutions that will improve productivity and efficiency
- Effectively manage the sourcing intake queue, expected delivery dates and priorities of outstanding contracts/agreements/orders
- Meet regularly with stakeholders to understand needs and future projects and to obtain feedback on sourcing performance
- Provide and improve transparency reports on status of sourcing projects
- Negotiate contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality.
- Review negotiating strategies and value achievement summaries on larger transactions
- Work with attorneys to propose language and redline contracts based on Blackstone's standard playbook
- Developing strong partnerships with suppliers and maintain strategic sourcing relationships
- Be an advocate for Supplier Diversity and provide recurring status reports on progress
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of professional experience with at least 5 years of experience managing developing sourcing teams
- Excellent team player
- Outstanding negotiation abilities
- Knowledge of and experience with GDPR, DPAs and DPIAs
- Experience developing and maintaining project schedules and delivering completed work product on time in a fast-paced environment
- Strong decision-making & problem-solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills combined with the ability to maintain effective relationships internally and externally with a strong customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated experience with standard business software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, Coupa, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance/Accounting or Business Administration; an MBA would be a plus

Expected annual base salary range:
$175,000 - $225,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
