Job Description

✍🏽 About Writer

Writer is the leading generative AI platform built for the needs of companies and teams. Unlike other AI products, Writer's training happens securely on a company's own provided data and their style and brand guidelines. The result is content that's consistent and on-brand, whether the initial text came from humans or from AI.

Writer is enterprise-grade with all of the security and data privacy features needed for organization-wide rollouts. Writer is deployed widely at leading companies like UnitedHealthcare, Accenture, Intuit, Vanguard, Charles Schwab, HubSpot, Spotify, Hilton, Uber, and Deloitte.

🛣 Traction and backing

  • We work with the best content teams across recognizable companies. It's a great community of writers, marketers, content strategists, copyeditors, and editorial leaders. They are a true community and the content vanguard - we’re building the product, our strategy, and the company right alongside them. Our customers stay with us and expand with us (We have a net retention rate of +130% and we're just getting started).

  • Our funnel is large and growing fast (+1M visitors/month, thousands of weekly trial starts). This is important, as it fuels the pipeline for growing our go-to market and R&D teams.

  • We're backed by the best funds in the game and a world-class group of founders, operators, and angels.

🎯 Why it's the perfect time to join

  • We have strong Product Market Fit. Companies and brands are recognizing the need to have an AI writing platform that is secure and on-brand - we are the only solution in market focused on quality of output.

  • Build it, nail it, scale it. We're at scale it.' With clear product market fit, great logos, a cutting edge product roadmap, and a robust marketing pipeline fueled by ever increasing demand, we’re ready to take the next step to grow our organization and you will have played an undeniable role in helping us build an enduring company.

📐 About this role

  • You’ll be the first in-house recruiter and talent leader

  • You can and aren’t afraid of rolling up your sleeves and running a full cycle recruiting process - hiring manager alignment, talent mapping, sourcing, interviewing, and closing.

  • You’ll be reporting to the Head of GTM Operations & Strategy who will empower you with the tools, process, data, and context to ensure your success & partnering with the Head of People whose primary focus will be to build a people and talent strategy that'll both support and fuel Writer’s growth. You'll be a thought partner and consultant for everything related to talent strategy.

  • This is a perfect role for someone who's seen, built, or experienced great before but wants to do it even better — from the ground up. You'll be a growth-multiplier for the business — your impact will be seen across the company.

  • This role has both executive sponsorship (CEO’s top 3 priority) and an absence of legacy architecture or processes. This will allow you to move fast and be creative in finding solutions. You’ll find the speed in which we operate to be highly-responsive and energizing.

🦸🏻‍♀️ Your responsibilities

  • Hit ambitious hiring goals

  • To start:

    • Full life-cycle recruiting for all levels of the organization

    • Manage team of outsourced recruiting agencies & sourcers

    • Support various teams and work directly with leaders to understand their needs, drive pipeline, develop strategies to close candidates, implement processes, and provide consistent updates on hiring progress

  • As we scale:

    • Build the team/engine - lay down the tracks that allow us to rapidly scale our recruiting efforts when we’re ready to - in-house and external recruiters, process, data, best practices, employer marketing, etc.

    • Work with leadership to build out the talent strategy

    • Partner with Head of People to define internal evaluation criteria and embed cultural values into the interview process

⭐️ Is this you?

  • An eye for spotting entrepreneurial and trajectory-shifting talent and an uncompromising bar that doesn’t settle for “good enough”

  • Dynamic in your ability to hire across a variety of roles across function and level.

  • 7-10+ years experience in recruiting, preferably some at high growth companies and/or early-stage startups

  • Egoless - you’re a leader that can scale a team but in the early stages, you’re open to parachuting in and filling roles across all levels, all teams.

  • A culture carrier—you embody the best of our company values (Connect, Challenge, Own) and seek the same in every potential new hire

  • Experience with using ATS and pipeline metrics to tell a story about hiring success/efficiency

  • Knowledgeable about employer brand across platforms and maintaining a consistent brand voice in all candidate-facing touch points

  • Knowledgeable about the job market and can be consulted about external hiring trends and recruitment tactics

  • Business acumen that allows you to connect with stakeholders and translate their needs into people solutions
