Job Description

Department: Early Talent Recruiting

The Role

The Talent Discovery team is MongoDB’s strategic center of excellence for high-priority hiring. Functioning as a global "SWAT" unit, the team provides both specialized sourcing and full-lifecycle support for the company’s most critical roles. As the function’s Senior Manager, you will lead this high-impact team through its next evolution, driving a sophisticated talent engine designed to solve complex hiring challenges across every department.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level business objectives and tactical excellence. Leading a global team across the U.S., EMEA, and India, you will serve as a manager of managers, empower your broader team to navigate ambiguity and pivot quickly to meet the needs of a scaling business. You will remain a strategic "player-coach" who stays close to the craft while optimizing the function. By leveraging data to elevate performance and serving as a consultant to MongoDB’s executive leadership, you will ensure we are positioned to meet our ambitious hiring goals across all areas of our global business.

In this role, you will:

  • Define and execute the long-term roadmap for Talent Discovery, leveraging historical data and evolving business objectives to maximize team productivity and organizational impact
  • Refine and monitor key performance indicators to sustain a high-bar for hiring success. Utilize deep analytics to inform resourcing needs, identify hiring trends, and drive data-backed decision-making
  • Cultivate a high-performance, global culture that balances rigorous delivery with psychological safety, ensuring an inclusive environment where team members can learn, grow and thrive
  • Serve as a consultant to the Recruiting Leadership Team (RLT), providing the delivery projections, market intelligence, and talent mapping necessary to shape MongoDB’s global hiring roadmap
  • Advance our global sourcing capabilities through the adoption of cutting-edge tools and AI. You will serve as a functional expert, ensuring the team remains competitive by driving training initiatives that elevate our collective sourcing craft
  • Cultivate cross-functional partnerships to synchronize Talent Discovery’s workflow with MongoDB’s global business priorities. You will be responsible for ensuring the team is strategically deployed to tackle the company’s most essential talent gaps, maximizing both impact and ROI

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience & Leadership: 10+ years of progressive recruiting experience, including 4+ years of direct people management in a high-growth technology environment
  • Strategic Breadth: Proven success leading sourcing or full-lifecycle teams focused on technical talent; additional experience overseeing Sales or GTM (Go-To-Market) functions is highly desirable
  • Change Leadership: A demonstrated ability to guide teams through organizational evolution and ambiguity, with the agility to redefine workflows and maintain high performance during periods of transition
  • Data Fluency: Mastery of talent analytics; the ability to move beyond surface-level metrics to perform deep-dive analyses that justify resource allocation and drive strategic pivots
  • Executive Influence: Strong executive presence and the confidence to challenge the status quo. You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing high-quality deliverables for C-suite leadership
  • Operational Excellence: Expert-level knowledge of top talent sourcing tools and a passion for staying at the forefront of passive outreach strategies, including leveraging AI to innovate talent pipelining workflows
  • A Global Mindset: Experience leading or partnering with international teams; you possess the cultural intelligence required to lead a highly global team and navigate new employment markets
  • A "Builder" Mentality: You thrive in environments where you are expected to architect the playbook rather than follow one. You have a keen eye for identifying system bottlenecks and a proven track record of optimizing processes to drive efficiency and hiring velocity
