Amplitude’s People & Places team is responsible for ensuring we win together as an organization and focuses on creating an environment where Ampliteers can do the best work of their lives. The Head of Talent Success role is critical to this mission, setting the strategy and leading the team responsible for enabling, developing, and engaging our employees. You will use your expertise to guide and nurture employee career growth, track employee net promoter score, drive our performance review process, and embed our company values into all aspects of Amplitude’s employee experience and people programs. This role reports directly to the VP, People Business Partners and Talent Success who reports into the CHRO and will be a key member of the People & Places extended leadership team.Â
What You’ll Do:
- Lead people: lead, coach and develop a small team of program managers.Â
- Set strategy and scale programs: create function strategy and roadmap connected to company talent strategy; design, implement and measure scalable programs that embed our values - Humility, Ownership, & Growth Mindset.
- Learning and development: engage and enable all our people to do their best work by developing and implementing L&D programming, managing our LMS and other virtual platforms, and building upon our flagship people manager alignment experience, Managing the Amplitude Way.
- Career development and internal mobility: establish Amplitude’s career development framework and partner with our Head of TA to create an internal talent marketplace (internal mobility program).
- Performance process: manage our annual performance cycle, ensuring equity and continuity of how performance is measured and defined.Drive employee engagement: lead our employee listening approach, deploying our bi-annual Data Monster Metrics (employee Net Promoter Score) to capture the voice of our employees and use the data received to implement meaningful People programs.
- Embed DEI: Partner closely with our Head of DEI & Impact to embed mindset and behaviors of inclusion into all our people programs, processes and employee experience initiatives.
- Employee experience: define the Amplitude employee experience journey and embed our values in all employee touchpoints
- Talent management: Work closely with the People team COEs and Amplitude senior leadership to identify and implement succession and talent development frameworks. Partner with the HRBP team to drive effective talent assessment processes as part of our talent cycles.
What You Bring:
- Minimum of 10+ years experience in learning and development and organizational effectiveness
- 3+ years of direct people management experience
- Experience as an HR Business Partner preferred
- Strong team leadership experience, ability to create a psychologically safe team environment, rallying a team around a vision, and supporting team growth and career development
- Experience scaling processes and programs in high-growth global technology companies and global environments
- Systems thinker with experience driving sustainable change
- Able to influence with and without authority and navigate complex global dynamics
- Data-driven approach and ideally design thinking experience
- Lead with an inclusive, collaborative and growth mindset, combined with an organized and disciplined approach to project management
- Balance courage, creativity, and a growth mindset to bring a solution-oriented approach to solve complex challenges with a sense of urgency
- Anticipate stakeholder needs, gain commitment, and execute skillfully, in service of our company’s mission
- Strong technical, business, Talent and Organizational Development acumen, with knowledge of DEI

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $160,000 - $240,000.
