Job Description
SUMMARY
The Head of Total Rewards will plan, develop, implement and oversee every element of the firm’s remuneration system. This includes salary, bonuses, long and short-term incentive plans, benefits and retirement plans. This individual will manage compensation programs, policies, and procedures to align with organizational goals and changes in the workforce and state/federal regulations.
This individual will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer and work within HR but will engage regularly with senior management from all departments. This role demands strategic thinking, tactical ability and strong collaborative skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual will be involved in the following critical activities:
- Develop, recommend and communicate a comprehensive remuneration and reward strategy for the organization
- Spearhead all compensation activities. Includes structuring and administering long and short-term incentive programs as well as analyzing, compiling, and reviewing data in support of salary adjustments
- Conduct continuing study of all Human Resources compensation policies and programs to keep management informed of necessary additions, deletions, and modifications
- Benchmark current compensation benefits against the macroeconomic environment and industry patterns to ensure that we are fair, equitable and attractive
- Develop, enhance, analyze, and maintain salary administration databases and tools, salary spreadsheets, statistical graphs, and other compensation-analysis tools
- Oversee benefit programs such as, but not limited to, the medical, dental and disability insurance plans
- Oversee annual benefit enrollment process by preparing necessary information and assisting in communicating information to employees. Partner with broker to analyze plan options
- Oversee compliance testing and audits for the 401k plan
- Oversee administration of leaves of absence and COBRA, ensuring proper compliance
- Oversee preparation and maintenance of employee listings, new hire/termination, and absentee reports
- Understanding of carried interest as a compensation tool
- Lead a team and foster high morale and collaboration in the department
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal experience and critical competencies for the role include the following:
- BA/BS with strong academic credentials
- 10+ years of human resources, compensation, and cash/equity incentive programs experience. Prior experience in financial services is preferable, but not required
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
- Applied experience with HRIS technology. Workday HCM expertise preferred
- Highest degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidential information
- Superior organization, decision making and problem-solving skills
