Head of Total Rewards (Hybrid)

General Purpose and Scope:
This new international role will lead the overall strategy, design, implementation, and administration of the total rewards program for 1,800+ employees located in the US and across the Caribbean. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives, competitive positioning, and industry trends. Manage all benefit plans and programs including but not limited to health insurance, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision insurance, disability and life insurance, retirement and other health and wellness objectives. Additionally, this role will be the driver of ensuring appropriate flow of data and reporting as well as broader process improvement, including international payroll.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and university leaders to align compensation strategies with organizational objectives.
- Lead the design and administration of effective compensation programs.
- Responsible for the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of our benefit programs globally, including medical, welfare, insurance, leave management, and retirement.
- Develops and distributes regular communication materials to management, HR and employees educating them on the benefit programs.
- Leads the management of US leave administration process, in partnership with our leave administration vendor.
- Manages key relationships with brokers and insurance carriers/providers for benefits to ensure high service levels.
- Spearhead the modernization of HR processes through the strategic implementation and optimization of HRIS systems.
- Harness technology to streamline human resource administration, enhance employee experience, and drive data-informed decision-making.
- Build and scale exceptional payroll functions to support our growth in the international markets.
- Implement effective controls, establish global payroll policies, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and other legal requirements applicable in each country of operation.
- Provide dynamic leadership, coaching and mentoring to the physically distributed total rewards team.
- International travel may be required.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience.
- Progressive experience in total rewards - compensation, benefits, and global payroll.
- Experience designing and implementing compensation programs.
- Experience managing diverse cultures.
Key Competencies:
- Strong understanding of compensation strategies, benefits program design, and regulatory compliance necessary for global payroll.
- Expert knowledge of federal and state laws/regulations related to employee benefits and compensation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make strategic recommendations based on that analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Proven experience in change leadership and management, guiding teams through transitions.
