Job Opportunity

As the Head of Total Rewards & Operations at SambaNova Systems, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of AI and the value it can unlock across every aspect of an organization’s business and operations.

This individual will own the strategy and implementation of key processes, programs, and policies that enable the People Team to operate effectively and deliver a world-class employee experience. This is a unique opportunity to drive impact at SambaNova, while at an inflection point as we scale globally. This role is a key leadership role for the People team and reports to the Chief People Officer.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Shape and define the overall People Ops and Total Rewards team strategy and operating model. Including but is not limited to: Onboarding, Offboarding, Compliance, Immigration, Contingent Workforce Management, Total Rewards/Compensation, and HR Technology.
  • Design and implement technology-enabled processes that drive efficiency for the People team as well as our employees. You will partner closely with cross-functional leaders such as Talent Acquisition, People Partners, Finance/Payroll, Data and Legal to define process objectives and success metrics that ensure success.
  • Own and drive the People systems roadmap, particularly HRIS, Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Engagement tools.
  • Help shape the strategy for people related critical business initiatives such as our total rewards philosophy, performance processes, team and international expansion. 

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of cross-functional leadership and management experience in progressively more challenging roles.
  • Prior experience leading People Ops and Total Rewards or key functions within the People team. 
  • Global experience.

Additional Required Qualifications

  • Must bring a strategic mindset with a relentless focus on execution. Demonstrated success in driving large cross-functional initiatives, often from scratch.
  • Experienced at designing, implementing, and continuously improving systems and processes that scale. Proven success in driving efficient, automated, repeatable processes that generate consistent results. 
  • Successful track record building, growing and developing high performing teams. 
  • Must be a strong collaborator and communicator. Proven success proactively building cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the company. Effective at driving outcomes and change even without direct authority.
  • Experience measuring impact and managing against ambitious goals. 
  • Strong understanding of HR fundamentals, along with a good handle on the technical side of HR, such as compliance and employment law requirements.

Annual Salary Range and Level

The base salary for this position ranges from $215,000/year up to $240,000/year. This range is based on role, level, and location and reflects the salary target for new hires in the US. Individual pay within the range will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s job-related qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.

Benefits Summary

SambaNova offers a competitive total rewards package, including the base salary, plus equity and benefits. We cover 95% premium coverage for employee medical insurance, and 80% premium coverage for dependents and offer a Health Savings Account(HSA) with employer contribution.
