POSITION OVERVIEW

The Head of Wholesale Supply & Trading will be responsible for leading the retail supply generation asset optimization and proprietary trading teams. The experienced leader filling this role should have experience in developing and executing advanced retail hedging strategies. Should also have the capability to run a proprietary trading function and oversee mid marketing and origination activities for a generation portfolio.

This position is in Houston, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to the Houston office location. The position will be located out of the Chariot Energy Houston office. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• As the head of the Wholesale Supply and Trading function, enabling the growth of our retail business, this role will oversee all retail supply management activities. 
• Identify and expand supplier, mid-marketer and broker relationships to maximize the market coverage and trading liquidity.
• Ensure all retail risks are priced appropriately to strike a balance between profitability and sales growth.
• Develop and execute hedging strategy that minimizes total retail supply costs.
• Ensure compliance of all approved risk limits with close monitoring of position and mark-to-market reports.
• Responsible for monetizing company’s generation assets through execution of structured transactions and origination efforts.
• Collaborate with marketing to create and launch highly profitable retail products to enable sale growth.
• Design, develop and implement a Proprietary Trading Platform that complements the retail and generation businesses.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of related Wholesale Supply & Trading work experience in Energy.
• Bachelor's Degree - Engineering, Economics, Finance or other equivalent. Advanced degree a plus. 
• In-depth knowledge of the wholesale electricity markets, trading in those markets, and the associated infrastructure supporting those markets.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis and market modeling.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Experience owning and delivering a P&L.
