Head Reserving Actuary
Job Description
We are seeking a credentialed actuary to lead all aspects of actuarial reserves for the PURE Group of Insurance Companies. The position will report to the Chief Risk Officer.
What you'll do.
- Oversee quarterly traditional reserve analyses
- Discuss insights with Executive Management, Product Management, Actuarial Pricing, and Capital Modeling teams for cohesive decision-making
- Present to the Reserve Committee and Audit Committee of the Board on a quarterly basis
- Design reserving practices for new business initiatives
- Lead monthly claims and actuarial discussions
- Lead interactions with outside actuaries for auditing purposes
- Conduct semi-annual stochastic reserve analyses in conjunction with the Capital Modeling team
- Complete special projects as required
What we're looking for.
- Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) preferred
- 15+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Experienced in personal lines reserving, high net worth experience is a plus
- Leadership ability to manage a team
- Eagerness to propose creative solutions to difficult problems
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity and comfort with manipulating large datasets on SQL servers
