Health & Welfare Representative
Job Description
Overview:
The Health and Welfare Representative provides essential support to the Welfare Benefits Department by performing routine administrative tasks and assisting participants with general inquiries. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. The Representative works under close supervision and follows established procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
The Health & Welfare Representative position is a full-time position, with a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM β 5:00 PM.
Position Functions and Responsibilities:
β’ Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail which will also include emails
β’ Perform basic data entry and update participant records
β’ Take participant walk ins
β’ Assist with photocopying, scanning, filing, and faxing documents
β’ Support the creation and formatting of simple forms using Word or Excel
β’ Help maintain daily insight adhoc reports assigned
β’ Assist with updating benefit plan information under guidance from senior staff
β’ Process participant Enrollment, HIPPA, Beneficiary forms, and assist with form completion
β’ Assist with review and processing of Life Insurance, HRA applications.
β’ On occasion provide general support to the Vacation and Pension Departments (non-PHI tasks), including:
β’ Answering routine participant calls
β’ Checking system records for form submissions
β’ Printing work hour summaries for participants
β’ Verifying receipt of Pensioner Life Verification Letters
Required Qualifications and Skills:
β’ Working knowledge in Microsoft applications.
β’ Knowledge of β8x8β telephone system is preferred but not mandatory
β’ Professional appearance and demeanor
β’ Strong telephone etiquette and βpeople skillsβ
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including written communications
β’ Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
β’ Proficiency with 10-key by touch
β’ Excellent organizational skills
β’ Ability to multitask in diverse work environment with diverse walk-in clients
β’ 2-5 years of related experience is preferred but not mandatory
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.66 - $30.29 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
